In this paper, we introduce two notions of a relative operator (α, β)-entropy and a Tsallis relative operator (α, β)-entropy as two parameter extensions of the relative operator entropy and the Tsallis relative operator entropy. We apply a perspective approach to prove the joint convexity or concavity of these new notions, under certain conditions concerning α and β. Indeed, we give the parametric extensions, but in such a manner that they remain jointly convex or jointly concave.

Significance Statement. What is novel here is that we convincingly demonstrate how our techniques can be used to give simple proofs for the old and new theorems for the functions that are relevant to quantum statistics. Our proof strategy shows that the joint convexity of the perspective of some functions plays a crucial role to give simple proofs for the joint convexity (resp. concavity) of some relative operator entropies.

An algebra A = (L; ∨, ∧, *, +, 0, 1) of type (2, 2, 1, 1, 0, 0) is a doublep-algebra if (L; ∨, ∧, 0, 1) is a (0, l)-lattice in which * and + are unary operations of pseudocomplementation and dual pseudocomplementation determined by the respective requirements that x ≤ a* be equivalent to x ∧ a = 0, and that x ≥ a+ if and only if x ∨ a = 1.

In this paper, we first deduce a formula of S-curvature of homogeneous Finsler spaces in terms of Killing vector fields. Then we prove that a homogeneous Finsler space has isotropic S-curvature if and only if it has vanishing S-curvature. In the special case that the homogeneous Finsler space is a Randers space, we give an explicit formula which coincides with the previous formula obtained by the second author using other methods.

In this paper we study rational Cherednik algebras at t = 1 in positive characteristic. We study a finite-dimensional quotient of the rational Cherednik algebra called the restricted rational Cherednik algebra. When the corresponding pseudo-reflection group belongs to the infinite series G(m, d, n), we describe explicitly the block decomposition of the restricted algebra. We also classify all pseudo-reflection groups for which the centre of the corresponding rational Cherednik algebra is regular for generic values of the deformation parameter.

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. We will say that an R-module M has Nakayama property, if IM = M, where I is an ideal of R, implies that there exists a ∈ R such that aM = 0 and a − 1 ∈ I. Nakayama's Lemma is a well-known result, which states that every finitely generated R-module has Nakayama property. In this paper, we will study Nakayama property for modules. It is proved that R is a perfect ring if and only if every R-module has Nakayama property (Theorem 4.9).

Let D be a unital associative division ring and D[t, σ, δ] be a skew polynomial ring, where σ is an endomorphism of D and δ a left σ-derivation. For each f ϵ D[t, σ, δ] of degree m > 1 with a unit as leading coefficient, there exists a unital nonassociative algebra whose behaviour reflects the properties of f. These algebras yield canonical examples of right division algebras when f is irreducible. The structure of their right nucleus depends on the choice of f. In the classical literature, this nucleus appears as the eigenspace of f and is used to investigate the irreducible factors of f. We give necessary and sufficient criteria for skew polynomials of low degree to be irreducible. These yield examples of new division algebras Sf.

Let (L, ≦) be a distributive lattice with first element 0 and last element 1. If a, b in L have complements, then these must be unique, and the De Morgan laws provide complements for a ∧ b and a ∨ b. We show that the converse statement holds under weaker conditions.

Theorem 1. If(L, ≦) is a modular lattice with 0 and 1 and if a, b in L are such that a ≦b and a ≨ b have (not necessarily unique) complements, then a andb have complements.

Minimal submanifolds of a Euclidean space are contained in a much larger class of submanifolds, namely in the class of submanifolds of finite type. Submanifolds of finite type were introduced about a decade ago by B. Y. Chen in [2]; the first results on this subject have been collected in the books [2], [3].

Let S be a closed Riemann surface of genus

g > 1,

so that Ŝ, the universal covering surface of S, is hyperbolic. We can then uniformize S by a discrete, nonabelian group Γ1 of Möbius transformations of the upper half-plane ℋ. It follows that N1 = NΩ(Γ1) is discrete; here N1is the normalizer of Γ in Ω, the group of (conformal) automorphisms of ℋ. An automorphism of S can be lifted to a coset of Nl/Γl. Hence C(S), the group of automorphisms of S, is isomorphic to Nl/Γ1. The order of C = C(S) equals the index of Γ1 in N1, which in turn equals ⃒Γ1⃒ / ⃒Nl⃒, where ⃒Nl⃒ is the hyperbolic area of a fundamental region of Nl. Since Γ1 uniformizes a surface, we have ⃒Γ1⃒ = 4π(g – 1), while, by Siegel's results [7], ⃒N1 ⃒ ≧ π/21 and N1 can only be the triangle group (2, 3, 7). Hence in all cases the order of C(S) is at most 84(g–1), an old result of Hurwitz [1]. The surfaces that permit a maximal automorphism group (= automorphism group of maximum order) can therefore be obtained by studying the finite factor groups of (2, 3, 7). Such a treatment, purely algebraic in nature, has been promised by Macbeath [5].

In [7] the level, sublevel, and product level of finite dimensional central division algebras D over a field F were calculated when F is a local or global field. In Theorem 1.4 of this paper we calculate the same quantities if all finite extensions K of F satisfy ū(K) ≤2, where ū is the Hasse number of a field as defined in [2]. This occurs, for example, if F is an algebraic extension of the function field R(x) where R is a real closed field or hereditarily Euclidean field (see [4]).

We suggest a way to quantize, using Berezin–Toeplitz quantization, a compact hyperkähler manifold (equipped with a natural 3-plectic form), or a compact integral Kähler manifold of complex dimension n regarded as a (2n−1)-plectic manifold. We show that quantization has reasonable semiclassical properties.

We construct chaotic m-homogeneous maps acting on for any m ≥ 2, and on the Fréchet spaces for odd values of m ≥ 3 and for any m ≥ 2.

The concept of “marked polygon”, made explicit in this paper, is implicit in all studies of the relationships between the edges and vertices of a fundamental polygon for Fuchsian group, as well as in the topology of surfaces. Once the matching of the edges under the action of the group is known, one can deduce purely combinatorially the distribution of the vertices into equivalence classes, or cycles. Knowing a little more, the order of the rotation group fixing a vertex in each cycle, we can write down a presentation for the group.

We prove that the perturbation class of the upper semi-Fredholm operators from $X$ into $Y$ is the class of the strictly singular operators, whenever $X$ is separable and $Y$ contains a complemented copy of $C[0, 1]$. We also prove that the perturbation class of the lower semi-Fredholm operators from $X$ into $Y$ is the class of the strictly cosingular operators, whenever $X$ contains a complemented copy of $\ell_1$ and $Y$ is separable. We can remove the separability requirements by taking suitable spaces instead of $C[0, 1]$ or $\ell_1$.

We give a spectral characterization of the norm closure of the class of all weakly hypercyclic operators on a Hilbert space. Analogous results are obtained for weakly supercyclic operators.

The notation in this paper will be standard and it may be found in [3], for example. In particular, the notation A ⊂′ B stands for the statement “A is an essential submodule of B”. As is customary, we say that a ring R is a Goldie ring when R is both left and right Goldie. Similarly, a ring is noetherian if and only if it is both right and left noetherian, etc.

In this paper, we study the existence of positive solutions to a semilinear nonlocal elliptic problem with the fractional α-Laplacian on Rn, 0 < α < n. We show that the problem has infinitely many positive solutions in $ {C^\tau}({R^n})\bigcap H_{loc}^{\alpha /2}({R^n}) $. Moreover, each of these solutions tends to some positive constant limit at infinity. We can extend our previous result about sub-elliptic problem to the nonlocal problem on Rn. We also show for α ∊ (0, 2) that in some cases, by the use of Hardy’s inequality, there is a nontrivial non-negative $ H_{loc}^{\alpha /2}({R^n}) $ weak solution to the problem
