Life expectancy of people with schizophrenia is reduced by 10-20 years compared to the general population. The excess mortality is part due to an increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease, prediabetes and obesity, which are in part due to antipsychotic treatment. Gaining weight is associated with reduced quality of life and also among the most frequently reported reasons for the discontinuation of treatment. Lifestyle changes have a time limited effect, and therefore, interest has focused on Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 receptor agonist treatment. Semaglutide, currently used to treat type 2-diabetes in doses up to 1.0 mg once-weekly, has shown promising results regarding weight loss in doses up to 2.4 mg once-weekly. It may also be able to reduce the risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

The HISTORI Trial aims to reduce risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease in people with schizophrenia, prediabetes and overweight and to investigate for an indirect effect of Semaglutide on psychotic symptoms and quality of life through a weight loss.

A 30 weeks randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded study with once-weekly injections of Semaglutide 1.0 mg. Primary inclusion criteria are age 18-40 years, schizophrenia, prediabetes, overweight and treatment with antipsychotics. Questionnaires and interviews regarding psychotic symptoms, quality of life, medication adherence and physical activity will be applied either monthly or every third month.

The COVID-19 pandemic grabs attention to the study and solution of this global problem around the world.

The aim of the study is to link the level of anxiety and fear that emerged in Turkey during the epidemic.

A survey was conducted, which contains 10 questions. 433 people took part, 5- 15 - 18 (1.2%), 168 - 19 - 29 years (38.8%), 202 - 30 - 39 (46.7%), 47 - 40-49 (10, 9%) 11 from 50 years (2.5%).

Men with panic attack criteria - 11.3% (11 people), women - 9.8% (35 people). Symptoms of GTR were found in 31% (25) men and 18% (66) women. 328 participants - university graduates: 29% believe that the information of the Ministry of Health is correct. No significant difference between the percentages of compliance with the criteria for diagnosing panic attacks and anxiety was found depending on educational status. 8.3% of participants, 36 people, were diagnosed with Covid. The share of those who did not have a code, but thought they had, is 42%, and among those who had a code (before the disease) - 72%. There is a direct relationship between the level of education and personal protection against epidemics.

From a community mental health perspective, it is important that all covid-positive patients receive psychiatric support, whether or not they meet the DSM-V and ISD 10 diagnostic criteria.

to establish the influence of the new active position of the patient in the therapeutic process on the satisfaction of the psychiatric patient.

This is a descriptive cross-sectional study that took place over a period of 5 months from April 2019 to August 2019 in two university hospital psychiatry departments of Razi Hospital in Tunisia . The questionnaire was administered outside any period of hospitalisation, in order to increase the reliability of responses. We used a pre-established form including socio-demographic data, clinical data concerning the patient’s mental disorder followed by a patient satisfaction questionnaire regarding the quality of care received in a psychiatric setting.

The patients interviewed in our study reported a good level of satisfaction (67.5%) with their involvement in the therapeutic process. However, 45.5% of the patients expressed dissatisfaction with the information provided to them by their doctor about their mental health status. The majority of the subjects surveyed expressed satisfaction with the quality of the interviews conducted during hospitalisation (71%) and with the time spent with the doctor (67%).

Despite the fact that providing information to patients with mental health problems is a key element of patient satisfaction, not enough doctors actually include it in their daily practice.

A growing body of literature has increased our understanding of interpersonal autonomic synchrony (IAS), or exchanges across biological systems resulting in physiological covariation. While research suggests that IAS is more likely in relationships characterized by emotional intimacy, no research to date has examined the connection between IAS and the quality of sexual relationships.

The current study seeks to elucidate the relationship between IAS and sexual satisfaction (SS) using tasks that have previously been used to assess synchrony (i.e.,gazing, mirroring), as well as several conversation-based tasks (i.e., neutral and sex-related conversation tasks).

Couples (n=28) completed procedures in a laboratory-based setting where they completed survey measures of SS before connecting to an electrocardiogram. Subsequently, heart rate (HR) data for each dyad were analyzed using a moderated multi-level modeling approach.

IAS was detected, with men reliably predicting the HR of female partners, and women reliably predicting the HR of male partners (respectively, β=0.383, p<0.001; β=0.222, p<0.001). AIC values indicate a better fitting model for men predicting female HR. As such, moderation analyses were conducted for that model by study task, finding a significant interaction between SS and observed IAS during the mirroring task (β=0.004, p=0.009) and neutral-conversation task (β=0.016, p=0.009).

These findings reflect evidence that IAS may be relevant to SS at the couple-level. The ability of couples to coregulate while attempting to synchronize (as in the mirroring task) or exchange information (as in the neutral-conversation task) may meaningfully change how they experience their sexual relationship.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected mental health globally, but the impact on referrals and admissions to mental health services remains understudied.

To assess patterns in psychiatric admissions, referrals, and suicidal behavior before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Denmark.

Utilizing hospital and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) health records covering 46% of the Danish population, we compared psychiatric in-patients, referrals to mental health services and suicidal behavior in years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic to levels during the first lockdown (March 11 – May 17, 2020), inter-lockdown period (May 18 – December 15, 2020), and second lockdown (December 16, 2020 – February 28, 2021) using negative binomial models.

The rate of psychiatric in-patients declined compared to pre-pandemic levels (RR = 0.95, 95% CI = 0.94 – 0.96, p < 0.01). Referrals were not significantly different (RR = 1.01, 95% CI = 0.92 – 1.10, p = 0.91) during the pandemic; neither was suicidal behavior among hospital contacts (RR = 1.04, 95% CI = 0.94 – 1.14, p = 0.48) nor EMS contacts (RR = 1.08, 95% CI = 1.00 – 1.18, p = 0.06). In the age group <18, an increase in the rate of psychiatric in-patients (RR = 1.11, 95% CI = 1.07 – 1.15, p < 0.01) was observed during the pandemic; however, this did not exceed the pre-pandemic, upwards trend in psychiatric hospitalizations in the age group <18 (p = 0.78).

The pandemic was associated with a decrease in psychiatric hospitalizations. No significant change was observed in referrals and suicidal behavior.

Resident physician’s working conditions are linked to poor health outcomes of professionals and patient’s safety. Previous studies suggest that residents in Spain have difficulties enjoying mandatory rest after on-call shifts.

This study aims at describing the working conditions: working hours and the absence of mandatory rest periods after a 24h on-call shift in residents of psychiatry in the region of Madrid.

A descriptive observational cross-sectional study was carried out through an anonymous survey adapted from the available literature.

Up to 24,1% of the surveyed residents could not enjoy mandatory resting periods after a 24 hour on-call shift and the mandatory weekly rest of at least 36 hours was not done in up to 17% of the cases with statistical significance (p <0.05). The average number of 24 hours on call shifts residents had to work per month was 5, which exceeds the maximum weekly hours allowed by law.

The findings reveal a violation of resident physician labor rights in relation to resting times after on-call shifts, weekly breaks and working hours. These phenomena pose a significant threat to resident physician’s health and patient safety.

Menke-Hennekam syndrome (MHS) is a relatively new genetic condition characterized by intellectual disabilities, autistic behavior, auditory defects, recurrent upper respiratory tract infections, microcephaly and short stature. Facial characteristics include short palpebral fissures, telecanthus, depressed nasal bridge, short nose, anteverted nares, short columella, and long philtrum. The genetic defect is represented by missense variants of CREBBP gene, located on exons 30 or 31. There are only around 30 cases reported by now.

The aim of the paper is to report a new case of MHS.

The case is a 3-year-old boy admitted in our department for developmental delay. The clinical examination revealed dysmorphic features; severe speech delay, mild intellectual disability, autistic behaviour.The patient had a personal history of recurrent respiratory infections, visual defect and bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Other investigations included EEG, abdominal echography, and cerebral MRI all were normal. The genetic studies included array CGH and WES.

The array CGH was normal. WES identified a pathogenic heterozygote variant c.5600G>A in the exon 31 of CREBBP gene, confirming MHS.

Overall, the features of our patient are consistent with those reported in the previous reports, including developmental and speech delay, autistic behavior, dysmorphic features, recurrent upper way infections, sensorineural hearing loss, and visual defects. Other common features, such as growth delay and microcephaly were not present in our patient. Our case contributes to the clinical characterisation of the new syndrome. Sexual minorities have been coming out more than ever before. However, Tunisian laws and society are still not supportive of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) rights. To this day, Tunisian doctors are requisitioned to carry out anal tests as part of expert testimonies in cases of conviction for homosexuality.

Assess Tunisian physicians’ attitudes and knowledge towards LGBT patients.

We conducted a cross-sectional study in October 2021, among 445 Tunisian physicians and medical students. Data were collected via an anonymous self-administered online questionnaire including sociodemographic data and the LGBT Development of Clinical Skills Scale (LGBT-DOCSS).

The overall LGBT-DOCSS score was quite good (4.47 ±0.85). The attitudes of Tunisian doctors were better than their knowledge (p=0.01; t=2.6), which was better than their clinical preparedness (p<10-3; t=25) in treating LGBT patients. Doctors who self-identify as sexual minorities and those who interacted with LGBT people in their daily lives, were less stigmatising, more able to treat them and had better knowledge of their needs. Those who had had sexology training (5%) had better LGBT-DOCSS score (p=0.013), better knowledge (p=0.045) and preparedness (p<10-3) in treating LGBT patients but did not appear to be less stigmatising than the rest of the group (p=0.9). Religiosity was associated with a more stigmatising attitude (p<10-3), but had no impact on knowledge or preparedness.

This study points to gaps, identified by doctors themselves when faced with an LGBT patient. A more inclusive health system requires better matching of health services to the needs of the whole population without discrimination.

Anxiety disorders are leading contributors to the global disease burden, highly prevalent across the lifespan, and associated with substantially increased morbidity and early mortality.

The aim of this study was to examine age-related changes across a wide range of physiological measures in middle-aged and older adults with a lifetime history of anxiety disorders compared to healthy controls.

The UK Biobank study recruited >500,000 adults, aged 37-73, between 2006-2010. We used generalised additive models to estimate non-linear associations between age and hand-grip strength, cardiovascular function, body composition, lung function and heel bone mineral density in cases vs. controls.

The main dataset included 332,078 adults (mean age = 56.37 years; 52.65% females). In both sexes, individuals with anxiety disorders had lower hand-grip strength and blood pressure than healthy controls, while their pulse rate and body composition measures were higher. Case-control differences were larger when considering individuals with chronic and/or severe anxiety disorders, and differences in body composition were modulated by depression comorbidity status. Differences in age-related physiological changes between female anxiety disorder cases and healthy controls were most evident for blood pressure, pulse rate and body composition, while in males for hand-grip strength, blood pressure and body composition. Most differences in physiological measures between cases and controls tended to decrease with age increase.

Individuals with a lifetime history of anxiety disorders differed from healthy controls across multiple physiological measures, with some evidence of case-control differences by age. The differences observed varied by chronicity/severity and depression comorbidity.

The coronavirus epidemic started in Tunisia in March 2020. Health personnel have been in the front line in the fight against this virus since that date. The COVID units of the hospitals and the different hospital services have been reinforced by student nurses (trainees, volunteers…).

To evaluate the degree of stress perceived during the COVID-19 pandemic by student nurses. To identify coping skills during a COVID-19 pandemic.

Descriptive, retrospective study conducted in March 2021 on the 60 senior nursing students enrolled in the military health school. We used the Cungi (1997) stress scale and developed a self-questionnaire on coping skills used by the students.

Our population was 54.3% male and 45.7% female. The average age was 22.6 years. The majority of the senior students (54.3%) worked in units dedicated to the care of patients with COVID-19. On the Cungi Stress Rating Scale, students had very low (13%), low (27%), and high (60%) stress levels. The main coping methods used were watching movies and listening to music (81%), playing sports (80%), praying (75%), rigorously applying social distancing measures and wearing protective gear (73%), talking with friends or psychologists (62%), doing yoga or meditation (34%), drinking herbal tea, alcohol, or taking psychotropic drugs (23%).

The COVID-19 pandemic is a time of major stress for nursing students. The coping methods used seem insufficient. Psychological support should be provided.

To search for factors associated with mental disorders among health workers during the Covid 19 pandemic

Data were collected through a questionnaire,with demographic variables anddifferentscales to evaluate the degree of symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia, distress, and the level of work engagement(PHQ-9,GAD-7,ISI,IES-R,UWES-9).

Of the 217 participants, 46% were physicians, 42% were nurses and 12% were emergency medical technicians. We also found a femalepredominance of 66%, 55% were single and a total of 155 participants of whom 71% were frontline health workers. In our study, 54.8% of the HCWs had symptoms of depression, 68.2% had symptoms of anxiety and insomnia and 71.4% had symptoms of distress. Binarylogisticregressionanalysisshowedthat being married was associated with depression, anxiety, and insomnia, and being a frontlineworkerappeared to be a risk factor for depression and insomnia. Psychiatric support was an independentrisk factor for all psychiatric symptoms.In addition, living in a rural area was associated with depression, and age 31 or older was associated with anxiety. In addition, having a history of psychiatric illness was a risk factor for insomnia. Being a nurse was identified as a risk factor for psychiatric distress. We also found a moderatelevel of professional commitment to be a protective factor.

Protecting healthcare workers is a crucial part of the public health response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Love of life as a positive evaluation of one‘s own life plays an important role in developing a person’s positive outlook on their own wellbeing.

Our goal is to define the nature of interrelations between manifestations of love of life and some psychosocial factors of health in university students.

Using the English version of the Love of Life Scale (Ahmed M. Abdel-Khalek) and the Sociocultural Health Questionnaire (E. Nikolaev), we carried out an online survey of 136 university students of both genders. A correlation analysis helped to define the interrelations.

We established that a high level of the overall rate of Love of Life, on the one hand, corresponds to high self-evaluation of a person’s health (r=.31, p<.05) and happiness (r=.47, p<.05). On the other hand, it correlates with a high level of anti-suicidal barrier (r=.20, p<.05) and low frequency of headaches (r=-.18, p<.05). Students’ desire for a long life, which would enable to achieve everything they have been dreaming of, correlates with low weight (r=-.18, p<.05). A low level of stress is connected with a greater feeling of love in life (r=-.22, p<.05) and its perception as something beautiful and fascinating (r=-.29, p<.05). Better understanding of life correlates with lower frequency of smoking (r=-.19, p<.05).

A psychological construct of Love of life, due to its negative correlations with the health risk factors has a great positive potential for a personality development and their health. It can serve as a target for a psychological impact in interventions.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a prevalent, often severe, and disabling illness that affects about 1-5% of the general population and has the highest risk of suicide among psychiatric disorders. Impulsivity and, emotion dysregulation have been emphasized due to their role in facilitating suicide acts among those with suicide ideation.

This study aimed to examine the relationship between emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and suicidality in patients with bipolar disorder by comparing bipolar patients with healthy individuals

The study included 85 patients (59 women, 26 men) with bipolar disorder and education and age-matched 65 (44 women, 21 men) healthy volunteers. The patient group was divided into 3 subgroups according to have suicide attempt history, have suicide ideation without attempt, and have neither suicide attempt nor ideation. Sociodemographic Form, The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11), Scale for Suicide Ideation, Suicide Behaviors Questionnaire scales were applied to the participants.

Patients with bipolar disorder had significantly higher scores for emotion dysregulation and impulsivity than the healthy control group. A statistically significant correlation was found between emotion dysregulation, impulsivity, suicide ideation, and suicide behavior scores. DERS Total and Barratt Total scores were found higher for bipolar patients with suicide attempts than bipolar patients with suicide ideation and bipolar patients with neither attempt nor ideation. The hierarchical regression analysis has indicated that strategies, clarity, and non-planing impulsiveness were the predictors of suicide ideation in bipolar patients.

The results suggested a strong association between emotional dysregulation, impulsivity with suicide ideation, and behavior in patients with bipolar disorder.

Studies demonstrate that Hypomagnesemia is evident in patients of critical care unit and alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Low Magnesium level is associated several dreadful complications as such higher mortality, cardiac arrythmias, septic shock, prolonged ICU stay, increased need for intubations and delayed weaning from ventilation etc. Prescribing Magnesium with cautious supervision might prevent these alarming sequels. Value to determine Hypomagnesemia regarding critical patients is extremely significant to determine timing for possible interventions.

To review the impact and significance of low serum Magnesium level on prognosis of patients with critical care unit and alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

To evaluate our reseach topic, we search through “Pubmed” and “Google Scholar” database using key words “Hypomagnesemia”, “Critical care” and “Alcohol withdrawal syndrome”, articles popped up. We select 5 articles on the basis of internal and external validity.

Level of Magnesium determination is extremely crucial to steer proper management in ICU, CDU, and critically ill patients. Studies reflecting most of the patients in critical care and alcohol withdrawal syndrome suffer from Hypomagnesemia. Most recent studies demonstrate that a level below 0.75 mmol/L is considered Hypomagnesemia for total Mg and level below 0.42 mmol/L for ionized Mg.

Hypomagnesemia is associated with dire consequences and fatal outcomes for critical patients in terms of mortality,prolonged ICU stay,septic shock as well as need for mechanical ventilation.Supplementing Mg with careful monitoring could prevent lethal aftermath while treating patients of AWS and critical care.

A debate regarding the comparative efficacy and tolerability of oral and long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAIs) in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia is still open in the mind of clinicians. While the adherence is intuitively improved by the LAIs, the acceptance of this treatment is not always good.

To conduct a literature review in order to find the data about the comparative efficacy of oral and LAI antipsychotics in schizophrenia, during the maintenance phase.

A literature review was performed through the main electronic databases (PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, EMBASE) using the search paradigm “schizophrenia” AND “maintenance treatment” AND “oral antipsychotics” OR “long-acting injectable antipsychotics”. All papers published between January 2000 and August 2021 were included.

Based on the reviewed clinical trials (n=37), LAI antipsychotics are associated with an efficacy and tolerability profile similar to or slightly superior to the oral formulation. This is confirmed for both typical and atypical antipsychotics that have been detected by this review. The main advantage of the LAIs is their superior therapeutic compliance and the possibility of early detection for non-adherent patients. However, not all data are unanimously supporting this perspective: while observational trials favor LAI antipsychotics, randomized trials included in the meta-analyses do not detect significant differences between the two types of formulations.

LAIs are associated with superior adherence, but their overall efficacy and tolerability are only slightly superior to those of the oral equivalents. Moreover, there are differences in the results related to the methodology of the trials, therefore data should be interpreted with care.

Both theoretical conceptualizations (M.&E. Laufers, E. Furman, J. Maltsberger, etc. ) and empirical studies (I. Orbach) suggest an important role body image plays in the dynamics of adolescent suicidal attempts.

To study the relationships between body image vulnerability and attachment attitudes concerning early care and current relationships.

Participants were 100 adolescents with suicidal behavior (46 with suicidal ideation only, 54 with suicide attempts) compared to 100 controls (12-17 years). Body attitudes were assessed with Body Investment Scale (BIS), perceived early care was assessed by Parental Bonding Inventory (PBI), current attachments experiences were assessed with Attachment Style Questionnaire (ASQ).

Adolescents with suicidal manifestations scored significantly lower on BIS Body Care (p<.001) , but higher on Comfort with Touch scales (p=.05). They did not differ significantly on Body Image and Body Protection scales. With regard to perceived early care, suicidal adolescents did score lower on all Care and Control PBI scales, in both paternal and maternal forms. For current attachments suicidal adolescents scored lower on Confidence (p<.001) and higher on Approval Need (p<0.05) ASQ scales. Correlation analysis suggests, for both groups, stronger relationships of body attitude dimensions to current relationships than to perceived parental care, the former being more marked in clinical group, with Body Image scale being related to all ASQ scales ranging from r=-.32 to r=-.63.

In current study only weaker tendency to care for body in suicidal adolescents was noted. However, in suicidal group the relationship between body image vulnerability and negative experiences of current attachments was stronger.

Chronic functional gastro-intestinal disorders can affect cognitive functioning of patients (1). Wong et al (2) showed attentional and executive function impairment, Aizawa et al. (3) found impairment of cognitive plasticity and activity of frontal and temporal arias of brain during performing tests in these patients.

Assessing of cognitive functioning of the female patients with chronic functional constipation.

42 Rome IV adult female patients with chronic functional constipation and 26 adult normative female volunteers were tested with Brief Assessment of Cognition in Schizophrenia (BACS).

Both groups were comparable by age (patients’ group 29,5±6,1, volunteers’ group 28,5±9,6, ns) In both groups subjects demonstrated normal level of cognitive functioning but the scores of the patients were closer to the lower level than the scores of the volunteers. The difference was significant in composite scores and in several other scores (Tab.1). Table1.

The findings of the study once more indicate some link between gastrointestinal dysfunction and cognitive functioning. Even these slight decrease in some aspects of cognition from normal population could have negative impact on everyday functioning. The origin of this link is still under question.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a common mood disorder diagnosed in children and adolescents. Bright light therapy has been effective for seasonal affective disorders, however its role in the treatment of MDD is under studied.

Our objective is to evaluate if bright light therapy (BLT) is a practical approach in treating Child and Adolescents having MDD.

We performed an extensive literature search using a wide range of MeSH terms in PubMed, PubMed Central and Google Scholar. We reviewed the literature for studies (published between 1983-2021) assessing the efficacy of BLT in the treatment of MDD in children and adolescents.

The final search results yielded 8 randomized clinical trials and 1 case report from 1983 to 2021. BLT showed a superior effect in children and adolescents with MDD compared to the control group in the majority of the randomized trials and a case report. In six studies BLT showed good effect, however in a study by Magnusson et al. and Sonis et al., found a milder degree of improvement in depression symptoms when compared to the control group. In the majority of the studies, patients’ age range was 7 years 18 and in most of the studies, patients were not on antidepressants.

The use of BLT in children and adolescents suffering from MDD can be a promising alternative method of biological treatment, which is effective as well as well tolerated. Future long-term studies on large sample size are necessary in this field.

The consequences for the COVID-19 pandemic in the newborns of affected mothers remains unknown. Previous clinical experiences with other infections during pregnancy lead to considered pregnant women and their offspring especially vulnerable for SARS-COV-2. That is, the underlying physiopathological changes caused by the infection (e.g. storm of cytokines, micro-coagulation in placenta or vertical transmission) could clearly compromise fetal neurodevelopment.

To analyze the impact of maternal SARS-COV-2 infection during pregnancy in early neurodevelopment of infants gestated during the COVID-19 pandemic period compared to those gestated immediately prior (2017-2021).

212 pregnant women (14% infected) were followed throughout their pregnancy and postpartum, including newborn development. SARS-COV-2 infection was serologically confirmed during pregnancy. The Brazelton Neonatal Assessment Scale (NBAS) was administered at 6 weeks old by a trained neonatologist to evaluate neurological, social and behavioral aspects of newborn’s functioning. Differences in NBAS scores between cases and controls were tested by ANOVAs. All the analysis were adjusted for maternal age, sociodemographic status, anxious-depressive symptomatology, infant’s sex and gestational age at birth and NBAS, and for the period of gestation (previous or during COVID-19 pandemic).

NBAS social interactive dimension was significantly decreased in those infants exposed to prenatal SARS-COV-2 (F=4.248, p=.043), particularly when the infection occurred before the week 20 of gestation. Gestation during COVID-19 pandemic did not alter NBAS subscales.

SARS-COV-2 infection during pregnancy seems to be associated with lower NBAS scores on social dimension in 6 weeks old exposed newborns.

Suicide risk is 20-30 fold higher in bipolar disorder(BD) than general population. A positive family history of suicide, early-onset bipolar disorder, rapid cycling, and drug/alcohol addiction have been identified as risk factors for non-fatal suicidal behavior. Lithium is the only mood stabilizer known to have a suicide-reducing effect in patients with BD. Less than half of the bipolar patients respond lithium well. Even though mechanism of action on suicide behavior is not clearly known, it is thought that lithium significantly reduces “impulsive-aggressive” behavior via serotonergic system which might also be related with treatment response in BD.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between lithium response and history of suicide.

Those who scored 7 points or more from the Alda total score were considered good responders. Patients were divided into those who responded well to lithium treatment and those who did not. History of suicide attemptbetween these two groups was compared.

65.3% of the patients were female (n:49). The mean age of the patients was 36.82±13.35 years. 25 patients responded well to lithium treatment. Among the good responders, 32% of the patients and 25% of the non-responders had a history of suicide attempts. This difference was not statistically significant. (p=0.46 x²=0.13)

The insufficient number of data in the study was considered as a limitation of this study. In addition, there is a need for more studies as there are many factors that cause suicide attempts.
