The Fock–Bargmann–Hartogs domain $D_{n,m}(\,\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}):=\{(z,w)\in \mathbb{C}^{n}\times \mathbb{C}^{m}:\Vert w\Vert ^{2}<e^{-\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}\Vert z\Vert ^{2}}\}$, where $\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}>0$, is an unbounded strongly pseudoconvex domain with smooth real-analytic boundary. We compute the weighted Bergman kernel of $D_{n,m}(\,\unicode[STIX]{x1D707})$ with respect to the weight $(-\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C})^{\unicode[STIX]{x1D6FC}}$, where $\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}(z,w):=\Vert w\Vert ^{2}-e^{-\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}\Vert z\Vert ^{2}}$ and $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6FC}>-1$. Then, for $p\in [1,\infty ),$ we show that the corresponding weighted Bergman projection $P_{D_{n,m}(\,\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}),(-\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C})^{\unicode[STIX]{x1D6FC}}}$ is unbounded on $L^{p}(D_{n,m}(\,\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}),(-\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C})^{\unicode[STIX]{x1D6FC}})$, except for the trivial case $p=2$. This gives an example of an unbounded strongly pseudoconvex domain whose ordinary Bergman projection is $L^{p}$ irregular when $p\in [1,\infty )\setminus \{2\}$, in contrast to the well-known positive $L^{p}$ regularity result on a bounded strongly pseudoconvex domain.

We present several results on the connectivity of McKay quivers of finite-dimensional complex representations of finite groups, with no restriction on the faithfulness or self-duality of the representations. We give examples of McKay quivers, as well as quivers that cannot arise as McKay quivers, and discuss a necessary and sufficient condition for two finite groups to share a connected McKay quiver.

In this paper, we show that there exist a Tychonoff quasi-Lindelöf space $X$ and a compact space $Y$ such that $X\times Y$ is not quasi-Lindelöf. This answers negatively an open question of Petra Staynova.

The Laub–Ilani inequality [‘A subtle inequality’, Amer. Math. Monthly97 (1990), 65–67] states that $x^{x}+y^{y}\geqslant x^{y}+y^{x}$ for nonnegative real numbers $x,y$. We introduce and prove new trigonometric and algebraic-trigonometric inequalities of Laub–Ilani type and propose some conjectural algebraic-trigonometric inequalities of similar forms.

We give a characterisation of Banach spaces X containing a subspace with a shrinking Markushevich basis {xγ, fγ}γ∈Γ. This gives a sufficient condition for X to have a renorming with Mazur's intersection property.

Let $[t]$ be the integral part of the real number t. We study the distribution of the elements of the set $\mathcal {S}(x) := \{[{x}/{n}] : 1\leqslant n\leqslant x\}$ in the arithmetical progression $\{a+dq\}_{d\geqslant 0}$ . We give an asymptotic formula

which holds uniformly for $x\geqslant 3$ , $1\leqslant q\leqslant x^{1/4}/(\log x)^{3/2}$ and $1\leqslant a\leqslant q$ , where the implied constant is absolute. The special case $S(x; q, q)$ confirms a recent numerical test of Heyman [‘Cardinality of a floor function set’, Integers 19 (2019), Article no. A67].

In the present paper we give a criterion for a function of Wiener's class to belong to the class of generalized absolute continuity, in terms of Fourier-Young coefficients {Ck}. More precisely, we prove the following theorem.

THEOREM. Let Λ = (λn,k) be a normal almost periodic matrix of real numbers such that λn,k ≥ λn,k+1 for all n and k. Then for any function f of Wiener's class Vν (1 < ν < 2) to be of class of generalized absolute continuity Ap (1 < p < ∞) it is necessary and sufficient that {|Ck|2} is summable Λ to zero.

We generalise the existence result for harmonic maps obtained by Hildebrandt-Kaul-Widman to the case where the domain manifold is complete noncompact.

Using generalized position vector fields we obtain new upper bound estimates of the first nonzero eigenvalue of a kind of elliptic operator on closed submanifolds isometrically immersed in Riemannian manifolds of bounded sectional curvature. Applying these Reilly inequalities we improve a series of recent upper bound estimates of the first nonzero eigenvalue of the Lr operator on closed hypersurfaces in space forms.

We study weak convergence of tensor products of vector measures with values in nuclear spaces, such as the space of all rapidly decreasing, infinitely differentiable functions, the space of all test functions, and the strong duals of those spaces. It is shown that the weak convergence of a net of tensor products of vector measures follows from that of the corresponding net of real product measures.

We characterise restricted weak upper semicontinuity of the subdifferential of convex functions in terms of the Fenchel biconjugate mapping.

We prove the following theorem: Let R be a ring, l a positive integer, and n a non-negative integer. If for each x, y ∈ R, either xy = yx or xy = xn f(y)x1 for some f(X) ∈ X2Z[X], then R is commutative.

In 1990 Allen Bell presented a sufficient condition for the primeness of the universal enveloping algebra of a Lie superalgebra. Let Q be a nonsingular bilinear form on a finite-dimensional vector space over a field of characteristic zero. In this paper we show that Bell's criterion applies to the Hamiltonian Cartan type superalgebras determined by Q, and hence that their enveloping algebras are semiprimitive.

Essentially this paper does the following: In Section 2 it gives necessary and sufficient conditions in order that the support of an idempotent measure on a locally compact semigroup S, be completely simple. In Section 3 it proves that if I is an ideal of S of positive measure μ (= any probability measure), then μn (I) strictly increases to the limit 1. If in addition μ is idempotent, then μ (N-1N) and μ(NN-1) are positive for any open set N. In Section 4 certain compactness conditions are proven equivalent to joint weak*–continuity of the convolution of bounded measures and a limit theorem concerning the convolution powers (Cesarò sums) of μ is proven.

The topic dealt with in this paper arose out of a study of theta functions and the moduli of curves. It concerns itself with configurations of lines in the plane and when they can be bitangents to a quartic. The techniques used are classical.

Aspects of duality relating to compact totally disconnected universal algebras are considered. It is shown that if P is a ““basic“ set of injectives in a variety of compact totally disconnected algebras then the category P of P-copresentable objects is in duality with the class of all G-copresentable algebras on P, where G: P → Ens is the forgetful functor and an algebra is taken to mean a finite-product-preserving functor from P to Ens.
