We introduce non-associative skew Laurent polynomial rings and characterize when they are simple. Thereby, we generalize results by Jordan, Voskoglou, and Nystedt and Öinert.

For $r\in(0,1)$, let $\mu \left( r\right) $ be the modulus of the plane Grötzsch ring $\mathbb{B}^2\setminus[0,r]$, where $\mathbb{B}^2$ is the unit disk. In this paper, we prove that

with $\theta _{n}\in \left( 0,1\right)$. Employing this series expansion, we obtain several absolutely monotonic and (logarithmically) completely monotonic functions involving $\mu \left( r\right) $, which yields some new results and extend certain known ones. Moreover, we give an affirmative answer to the conjecture proposed by Alzer and Richards in H. Alzer and K. Richards, On the modulus of the Grötzsch ring, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 432(1): (2015), 134–141, DOI 10.1016/j.jmaa.2015.06.057. As applications, several new sharp bounds and functional inequalities for $\mu \left( r\right) $ are established.

We prove that the Center Conjecture passes to the Artin groups whose defining graphs are cones, if the conjecture holds for the Artin group defined on the set of the cone points. In particular, it holds for every Artin group whose defining graph has exactly one cone point.

Erdös and Selfridge first showed that the product of consecutive integers cannot be a perfect power. Later, this result was generalized to polynomial values by various authors. They demonstrated that the product of consecutive polynomial values cannot be the perfect power for a suitable polynomial. In this article, we consider a related problem to the product of consecutive integers. We consider all sequences of polynomial values from a given interval whose products are almost perfect powers. We study the size of these powers and give an asymptotic result. We also define a group theoretic invariant, which is a natural generalization of the Davenport constant. We provide a non-trivial upper bound of this group theoretic invariant.

We prove the existence of a vector-valued cusp form for the full modular group for which the nth derivative of its L-function does not vanish under certain conditions. As an application, we generalize our result to Kohnen’s plus space and prove an analogous result for Jacobi forms.

In this paper, we establish a second main theorem for holomorphic maps with finite growth index on complex discs intersecting arbitrary families of hypersurfaces (fixed and moving) in projective varieties, which gives an above bound of the sum of truncated defects. Our result also generalizes and improves many previous second main theorems for holomorphic maps from ${\mathbb{C}}$ intersecting hypersurfaces (moving and fixed) in projective varieties.

We study the planar 3-colorablesubgroup $\mathcal{E}$ of Thompson’s group F and its even part ${\mathcal{E}_{\rm EVEN}}$. The latter is obtained by cutting $\mathcal{E}$ with a finite index subgroup of F isomorphic to F, namely the rectangular subgroup $K_{(2,2)}$. We show that the even part ${\mathcal{E}_{\rm EVEN}}$ of the planar 3-colorable subgroup admits a description in terms of stabilisers of suitable subsets of dyadic rationals. As a consequence ${\mathcal{E}_{\rm EVEN}}$ is closed in the sense of Golan and Sapir. We then study three quasi-regular representations associated with ${\mathcal{E}_{\rm EVEN}}$: two are shown to be irreducible and one to be reducible.

We show that a compact complex manifold X has no non-trivial nef $(1,1)$-classes if there is a non-biholomorphic bimeromorphic map $f\colon X\dashrightarrow Y$, which is an isomorphism in codimension 1 to a compact Kähler manifold Y with $h^{1,1}=1$. In particular, there exist infinitely many isomorphic classes of smooth compact Moishezon threefolds with no nef and big $(1,1)$-classes. This contradicts a recent paper (Strongly Jordan property and free actions of non-abelian free groups, Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc., 65(3) (2022), 736–746).

In this paper, we give a unified characterization of the measures µ for which the operator $\mathcal {I}_{\mu_{\alpha+1}}$ is bounded from the Bloch space to a Bergman space for all $\alpha \gt -1$. Additionally, we also investigate the action of $\mathcal {I}_{\mu_{\alpha+1}}$ from the Bloch space to the Hardy spaces and the Besov spaces.

The fixed points of the generalized Ricci flow are the Bismut Ricci flat (BRF) metrics, i.e., a generalized metric (g, H) on a manifold M, where g is a Riemannian metric and H a closed 3-form, such that H is g-harmonic and $\operatorname{Rc}(g)=\tfrac{1}{4} H_g^2$. Given two standard Einstein homogeneous spaces $G_i/K$, where each Gi is a compact simple Lie group and K is a closed subgroup of them holding some extra assumption, we consider $M=G_1\times G_2/\Delta K$. Recently, Lauret and Will proved the existence of a BRF metric on any of these spaces. We proved that this metric is always asymptotically stable for the generalized Ricci flow on M among a subset of G-invariant metrics and, if $G_1=G_2$, then it is globally stable.

In this paper,the linear space $\mathcal F$ of a special type of fractal interpolation functions (FIFs) on an interval I is considered. Each FIF in $\mathcal F$ is established from a continuous function on I. We show that, for a finite set of linearly independent continuous functions on I, we get linearly independent FIFs. Then we study a finite-dimensional reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS) $\mathcal F_{\mathcal B}\subset\mathcal F$, and the reproducing kernel $\mathbf k$ for $\mathcal F_{\mathcal B}$ is defined by a basis of $\mathcal F_{\mathcal B}$. For a given data set $\mathcal D=\{(t_k, y_k) : k=0,1,\ldots,N\}$, we apply our results to curve fitting problems of minimizing the regularized empirical error based on functions of the form $f_{\mathcal V}+f_{\mathcal B}$, where $f_{\mathcal V}\in C_{\mathcal V}$ and $f_{\mathcal B}\in \mathcal F_{\mathcal B}$. Here $C_{\mathcal V}$ is another finite-dimensional RKHS of some classes of regular continuous functions with the reproducing kernel $\mathbf k^*$. We show that the solution function can be written in the form $f_{\mathcal V}+f_{\mathcal B}=\sum_{m=0}^N\gamma_m\mathbf k^*_{t_m} +\sum_{j=0}^N \alpha_j\mathbf k_{t_j}$, where ${\mathbf k}_{t_m}^\ast(\cdot)={\mathbf k}^\ast(\cdot,t_m)$ and $\mathbf k_{t_j}(\cdot)=\mathbf k(\cdot,t_j)$, and the coefficients γm and αj can be solved by a system of linear equations.

acting on a number of important analytic function spaces on $\mathbb{D}$, where µ is a positive finite Borel measure. The function spaces are some newly appeared analytic function spaces (e.g., Bergman–Morrey spaces $A^{p,\lambda}$ and Dirichlet–Morrey spaces $\mathcal{D}_p^{\lambda}$) . This work continues the lines of the previous characterizations by Blasco and Galanopoulos et al. for classical Hardy spaces and weighted Bergman spaces and so forth.

We prove the existence of a power structure over the Grothendieck ring of geometric dg categories. We show that a conjecture by Galkin and Shinder (proved recently by Bergh, Gorchinskiy, Larsen and Lunts) relating the motivic and categorical zeta functions of varieties can be reformulated as a compatibility between the motivic and categorical power structures. Using our power structure, we show that the categorical zeta function of a geometric dg category can be expressed as a power with exponent the category itself. We give applications of our results for the generating series associated with Hilbert schemes of points, categorical Adams operations and series with exponent a linear algebraic group.
