Let $\pi \colon \mathcal {X}\to B$ be a family whose general fibre $X_b$ is a $(d_1,\,\ldots,\,d_a)$-polarization on a general abelian variety, where $1\leq d_i\leq 2$, $i=1,\,\ldots,\,a$ and $a\geq 4$. We show that the fibres are in the same birational class if all the $(m,\,0)$-forms on $X_b$ are liftable to $(m,\,0)$-forms on $\mathcal {X}$, where $m=1$ and $m=a-1$. Actually, we show a general criteria to establish whether the fibres of certain families belong to the same birational class.

For a state $\omega$ on a C$^{*}$-algebra $A$, we characterize all states $\rho$ in the weak* closure of the set of all states of the form $\omega \circ \varphi$, where $\varphi$ is a map on $A$ of the form $\varphi (x)=\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^{n}a_i^{*}xa_i,$ $\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^{n}a_i^{*}a_i=1$ ($a_i\in A$, $n\in \mathbb {N}$). These are precisely the states $\rho$ that satisfy $\|\rho |J\|\leq \|\omega |J\|$ for each ideal $J$ of $A$. The corresponding question for normal states on a von Neumann algebra $\mathcal {R}$ (with the weak* closure replaced by the norm closure) is also considered. All normal states of the form $\omega \circ \psi$, where $\psi$ is a quantum channel on $\mathcal {R}$ (that is, a map of the form $\psi (x)=\sum \nolimits _ja_j^{*}xa_j$, where $a_j\in \mathcal {R}$ are such that the sum $\sum \nolimits _ja_j^{*}a_j$ converge to $1$ in the weak operator topology) are characterized. A variant of this topic for hermitian functionals instead of states is investigated. Maximally mixed states are shown to vanish on the strong radical of a C$^{*}$-algebra and for properly infinite von Neumann algebras the converse also holds.

In this paper, we consider the problem $-\Delta u =-u^{-\beta }\chi _{\{u>0\}} + f(u)$ in $\Omega$ with $u=0$ on $\partial \Omega$, where $0<\beta <1$ and $\Omega$ is a smooth bounded domain in $\mathbb {R}^{N}$, $N\geq 2$. We are able to solve this problem provided $f$ has subcritical growth and satisfy certain hypothesis. We also consider this problem with $f(s)=\lambda s+s^{\frac {N+2}{N-2}}$ and $N\geq 3$. In this case, we are able to obtain a solution for large values of $\lambda$. We replace the singular function $u^{-\beta }$ by a function $g_\epsilon (u)$ which pointwisely converges to $u^{-\beta }$ as $\epsilon \rightarrow 0$. The corresponding energy functional to the perturbed equation $-\Delta u + g_\epsilon (u) = f(u)$ has a critical point $u_\epsilon$ in $H_0^{1}(\Omega )$, which converges to a non-trivial non-negative solution of the original problem as $\epsilon \rightarrow 0$.

Let $\mathcal {N}$ be a non-Archimedean-ordered field extension of the real numbers that is real closed and Cauchy complete in the topology induced by the order, and whose Hahn group is Archimedean. In this paper, we first review the properties of weakly locally uniformly differentiable (WLUD) functions, $k$ times weakly locally uniformly differentiable (WLUD$^{k}$) functions and WLUD$^{\infty }$ functions at a point or on an open subset of $\mathcal {N}$. Then, we show under what conditions a WLUD$^{\infty }$ function at a point $x_0\in \mathcal {N}$ is analytic in an interval around $x_0$, that is, it has a convergent Taylor series at any point in that interval. We generalize the concepts of WLUD$^{k}$ and WLUD$^{\infty }$ to functions from $\mathcal {N}^{n}$ to $\mathcal {N}$, for any $n\in \mathbb {N}$. Then, we formulate conditions under which a WLUD$^{\infty }$ function at a point $\boldsymbol {x_0} \in \mathcal {N}^{n}$ is analytic at that point.

We obtain conditions of uniform continuity for endomorphisms of free-abelian times free groups for the product metric defined by taking the prefix metric in each component and establish an equivalence between uniform continuity for this metric and the preservation of a coarse-median, a concept recently introduced by Fioravanti. Considering the extension of an endomorphism to the completion, we count the number of orbits for the action of the subgroup of fixed points (respectively periodic) points on the set of infinite fixed (respectively periodic) points. Finally, we study the dynamics of infinite points: for automorphisms and some endomorphisms, defined in a precise way, fitting a classification given by Delgado and Ventura, we prove that every infinite point is either periodic or wandering, which implies that the dynamics is asymptotically periodic.

Let $X$ be a connected complex manifold and let $Z$ be a compact complex subspace of $X$. Assume that ${\rm Aut}(Z)$ is strongly Jordan. In this paper, we show that the automorphism group ${\rm Aut}(X,\, Z)$ of all biholomorphisms of $X$ preserving $Z$ is strongly Jordan. A similar result has been proved by Meng et al. for a compact Kähler submanifold $Z$ of $X$ instead of a compact complex subspace $Z$ of $X$. In addition, we also show some rigidity result for free actions of large groups on complex manifolds.

We prove that certain families of homogenous affine iterated function systems in $\mathbb {R}^{d}$ have the property that the open set condition and the existence of exact overlaps both occur densely in the space of translation parameters. These examples demonstrate that in the theorems of Falconer and Jordan–Pollicott–Simon on the almost sure dimensions of self-affine sets and measures, the set of exceptional translation parameters can be a dense set. The proof combines results from the literature on self-affine tilings of $\mathbb {R}^{d}$ with an adaptation of a classic argument of Erdős on the singularity of certain Bernoulli convolutions. This result encompasses a one-dimensional example due to Kenyon which arises as a special case.

We prove a version of the Fatou theorem for bounded functions with a bounded $\overline \partial _J$ part of the differential on wedge-type domains in an almost complex manifold.

In 2012, Andrews and Merca proved a truncated theorem on Euler's pentagonal number theorem. Motivated by the works of Andrews and Merca, Guo and Zeng deduced truncated versions for two other classical theta series identities of Gauss. Very recently, Xia et al. proved new truncated theorems of the three classical theta series identities by taking different truncated series than the ones chosen by Andrews–Merca and Guo–Zeng. In this paper, we provide a unified treatment to establish new truncated versions for the three identities of Euler and Gauss based on a Bailey pair due to Lovejoy. These new truncated identities imply the results proved by Andrews–Merca, Wang–Yee, and Xia–Yee–Zhao.

In this paper, we construct uncountably many examples of multiparameter CCR flows, which are not pullbacks of $1$-parameter CCR flows, with any given index. Moreover, the constructed CCR flows are type I in the sense that the associated product system is the smallest subsystem containing its units.

In this paper, by the introduction of several parameters, we construct a new kernel function which is defined in the whole plane and includes some classical kernel functions. Estimating the weight functions with the techniques of real analysis, we establish a new Hilbert-type inequality in the whole plane, and the constant factor of the newly obtained inequality is proved to be the best possible. Additionally, by means of the partial fraction expansion of the tangent function, some special and interesting inequalities are presented at the end of the paper.

The $q$-coloured Delannoy numbers $D_{n,k}(q)$ count the number of lattice paths from $(0,\,0)$ to $(n,\,k)$ using steps $(0,\,1)$, $(1,\,0)$ and $(1,\,1)$, among which the $(1,\,1)$ steps are coloured with $q$ colours. The focus of this paper is to study some analytical properties of the polynomial matrix $D(q)=[d_{n,k}(q)]_{n,k\geq 0}=[D_{n-k,k}(q)]_{n,k\geq 0}$, such as the strong $q$-log-concavity of polynomial sequences located in a ray or a transversal line of $D(q)$ and the $q$-total positivity of $D(q)$. We show that the zeros of all row sums $R_n(q)=\sum \nolimits _{k=0}^{n}d_{n,k}(q)$ are in $(-\infty,\, -1)$ and are dense in the corresponding semi-closed interval. We also prove that the zeros of all antidiagonal sums $A_n(q)=\sum \nolimits _{k=0}^{\lfloor n/2 \rfloor }d_{n-k,k}(q)$ are in the interval $(-\infty,\, -1]$ and are dense there.

For a given inverse semigroup action on a topological space, one can associate an étale groupoid. We prove that there exists a correspondence between the certain subsemigroups and the open wide subgroupoids in case that the action is strongly tight. Combining with the recent result of Brown et al., we obtain a correspondence between the certain subsemigroups of an inverse semigroup and the Cartan intermediate subalgebras of a groupoid C*-algebra.
