In this paper, we prove that the set of equivalence classes of dormant opers of rank $p-1$ over a projective smooth curve of genus ${\geqslant}2$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$ is of cardinality one.

In 1967 Gindikin and Vinberg stated the Fundamental Conjecture for homogeneous Kähler manifolds. It (roughly) states that every homogeneous Kähler manifold is a fiber space over a bounded homogeneous domain for which the fibers are a product of a flat with a simply connected compact homogeneous Kähler manifold. This conjecture has been proven in a number of cases (see [6] for a recent survey). In particular, it holds if the homogeneous Kähler manifold admits a reductive or an arbitrary solvable transitive group of automorphisms [5]. It is thus tempting to think about the general case. It is natural to expect that lack of knowledge about the radical of a transitive group G of automorphisms of a homogeneous Kähler manifold M is the main obstruction to a proof of the Fundamental Conjecture for M. Thus it is of importance to consider the Kähler algebra generated by the radical of the Lie algebra of G. Computations in this context suggest that one rather considers Kähler algebras generated by an arbitrary solvable ideal.

We will give certain asymptotic relations between p-eigenvalues and certain Fourier coefficients of Siegel cusp forms of genus g. In particular, it will turn out that potential strong bounds for the Fourier coefficients will imply potential strong bounds for the eigenvalues.

In their renowned paper (2011, Inventiones Mathematicae 184, 591–627), I. Vollaard and T. Wedhorn defined a stratification on the special fiber of the unitary unramified PEL Rapoport–Zink space with signature $(1,n-1)$ . They constructed an isomorphism between the closure of a stratum, called a closed Bruhat–Tits stratum, and a Deligne–Lusztig variety which is not of classical type. In this paper, we describe the $\ell $ -adic cohomology groups over $\overline {{\mathbb Q}_{\ell }}$ of these Deligne–Lusztig varieties, where $\ell \not = p$ . The computations involve the spectral sequence associated with the Ekedahl–Oort stratification of a closed Bruhat–Tits stratum, which translates into a stratification by Coxeter varieties whose cohomology is known. Eventually, we find out that the irreducible representations of the finite unitary group which appear inside the cohomology contribute to only two different unipotent Harish-Chandra series, one of them belonging to the principal series.

In the previous paper, we defined a new category which categorifies the Hecke algebra. This is a generalization of the theory of Soergel bimodules. To prove theorems, the existences of certain homomorphisms between Bott–Samelson bimodules are assumed. In this paper, we prove this assumption. We only assume the vanishing of certain two-colored quantum binomial coefficients.

In the present paper by an algebraic system (algebra) A we shall mean a system with a set F of operations fλ: (x1,…, xn) ∈ A × · · · × A → fλ(x1,…, xn) ∈ A. A polynomial p(x1, …, xr) is a function of variables x1,…, xr which is either one of the xi, or (recursively) a result of some operation fλ(p1,…, pn) performed on other polynomials pi. An algebra A may satisfy a set R of identities p(x1,…, xr) = q(x1,…, xs), and then A shall be called an (F, R)-algebra.

The recently developed Hida calculus of white noise [5] is an infinite dimensional analogue of Schwartz’ distribution theory besed on the Gelfand triple (E) ⊂ (L2) = L2 (E*, μ) ⊂ (E)*, where (E*, μ) is Gaussian space and (L2) is (a realization of) Fock space. It has been so far discussed aiming at an application to quantum physics, for instance [1], [3], and infinite dimensional harmonic analysis [7], [8], [13], [14], [15].

We determine explicitly the normalized potential, a Weierstrass-type representation, of a superconformal surface in an even-dimensional sphere S2n in terms of certain normal curvatures of the surface. When the Hopf differential is zero the potential embodies a system of first order equations governing the directrix curve of a superminimal surface in the twistor space of the sphere. We construct a birational map from the twistor space of S2n into ℂPn(n+1)/2. In general, birational geometry does not preserve the degree of an algebraic curve. However, we prove that the birational map preserves the degree, up to a factor 2, of the twistor lift of a superminimal surface in S6 as long as the surface does not pass through the north pole. Our approach, which is algebro-geometric in nature, accounts in a rather simple way for the aforementioned first order equations, and as a consequence for the particularly interesting class of superminimal almost complex curves in S6. It also yields, in a constructive way, that a generic superminimal surface in S6 is not almost complex and can achieve, by the above degree property, arbitrarily large area.

Generalizing the concepts of Stanley-Reisner and affine monoid algebras, one can associate to a rational pointed fan Σ in ℝd the ℤd-graded toric face ring K[Σ]. Assuming that K[Σ] is Cohen-Macaulay, the main result of this paper is to characterize the situation when its canonical module is isomorphic to a ℤd-graded ideal of K[Σ]. From this result several algebraic and combinatorial consequences are deduced. As an application, we give a relation between the cleanness of K[Σ] and the shellability of Σ.

This article is a continuation and completion of our study in the previous one [1] in which we gave the defining equations of abelian varieties projectively embedded by theta functions of level three. These defining equations are nothing else the canonical generators of theta relations for theta functions with ⅓—characteristics. In the present article the canonical generators of 3 theta relations will be given for the wider class of theta functions with rational characteristics.

We prove a multiplicity result of 2π-periodic solutions for certain weakly coupled system of ordinary differential equations with real parameters. The proofs are based on differential inequalities and coincidence degree.

We give an explicit construction of the Ree groups of type G2 as groups acting on mixed Moufang hexagons together with detailed proofs of the basic properties of these groups contained in the two fundamental papers of Tits on this subject (see [7] and [8]). We also give a short proof that the norm of a Ree group is anisotropic.

Let be a smooth foliated manifold, and the Lie algebra of all leaf-tangent vector fields on M.

In earlier work, the author introduced a method for constructing a Frobenius categorification of a cluster algebra with frozen variables by starting from the data of an internally Calabi–Yau algebra, which becomes the endomorphism algebra of a cluster-tilting object in the resulting category. In this paper, we construct appropriate internally Calabi–Yau algebras for cluster algebras with polarized principal coefficients (which differ from those with principal coefficients by the addition of more frozen variables) and obtain Frobenius categorifications in the acyclic case. Via partial stabilization, we then define extriangulated categories, in the sense of Nakaoka and Palu, categorifying acyclic principal coefficient cluster algebras, for which Frobenius categorifications do not exist in general. Many of the intermediate results used to obtain these categorifications remain valid without the acyclicity assumption, as we will indicate, and are interesting in their own right. Most notably, we provide a Frobenius version of Van den Bergh’s result that the Ginzburg dg-algebra of a quiver with potential is bimodule $3$-Calabi–Yau.

Alice Roth has made an extensive study of entire meromorphic functions with prescribed behavior along half rays emanating from the origin (6). The question arose whether analogous results could be found for functions meromorphic in the unit disk with the same behavior prescribed along an exhaustive class of spirals emanating from the origin. In this paper, I present a class of spirals which satisfactorily fills this role. However, I make no claim to the effect that only this class will suffice.

We address two aspects of finitely generated modules of finite projective dimension over local rings and their connection in between: embeddability and grade of order ideals of minimal generators of syzygies. We provide a solution of the embeddability problem and prove important reductions and special cases of the order ideal conjecture. In particular, we derive that, in any local ring R of mixed characteristic p > 0, where p is a nonzero divisor, if I is an ideal of finite projective dimension over R and p 𝜖 I or p is a nonzero divisor on R/I, then every minimal generator of I is a nonzero divisor. Hence, if P is a prime ideal of finite projective dimension in a local ring R, then every minimal generator of P is a nonzero divisor in R.

In characteristic $0$ , symplectic automorphisms of K3 surfaces (i.e., automorphisms preserving the global $2$ -form) and non-symplectic ones behave differently. In this paper, we consider the actions of the group schemes $\mu _{n}$ on K3 surfaces (possibly with rational double point [RDP] singularities) in characteristic p, where n may be divisible by p. We introduce the notion of symplecticness of such actions, and we show that symplectic $\mu _{n}$ -actions have similar properties, such as possible orders, fixed loci, and quotients, to symplectic automorphisms of order n in characteristic $0$ . We also study local $\mu _n$ -actions on RDPs.

Matsumoto proved in, [Prime end rotation numbers of invariant separating continua of annular homeomorphisms, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 140(3) (2012), 839–845.] that the prime end rotation numbers associated to an invariant annular continuum are contained in its rotation set. An alternative proof of this fact using only simple planar topology is presented.

We consider a general twisted shift-invariant system, $V^{t}(\mathcal {A})$, consisting of twisted translates of countably many generators and study the problem of obtaining a characterization for the system $V^{t}(\mathcal {A})$ to form a frame sequence or a Riesz sequence. We illustrate our theory with some examples. In addition to these results, we study a dual twisted shift-invariant system and also obtain an orthonormal sequence of twisted translates from a given Riesz sequence of twisted translates.
