Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound whose effects have been seen in studies for treatment of depression, anxiety and pain management. Given its structural similarities to 5-hydroxytryptamine, a monoamine controlling brain modulation of pain input, preliminary studies sought to test serotonergic interactions of psilocybin with headaches.

Explore efficacy of psilocybin as treatment for individuals with headaches, including migraines, essential headaches, cluster headaches and unclassified head pains.

Studies were found from six major databases, with inclusion criteria consisting of participants with any type of headache using psilocybin as a treatment. Each study was independently screened by two reviewers at two stages, with inconsistencies reviewed by a third, senior reviewer.

The systematic review evaluated eight articles. Benefits of macrodosing were explored in one study which reported higher levels of pain relief in comparison to microdosing and conventional pain medications. Top benefits of microdosing as reported by participants included convenience, perceived safety and reduced side effects when compared to hallucinogenic doses of psilocybin. Participants across five studies reported improvements to their headaches as characterized by changes in frequency, intensity, duration and remission period. Reported improvements were clinically significant in the six studies and statistically significant in three papers. With psilocybin intervention, two studies reported a decrease in headache attack frequency, three studies reported a decrease in intensity, and one study indicated a decrease in duration. The greatest benefit reported was for psilocybin taken during a remission period, with the average length of that remission period between headaches extending for 91% of participants. One study focused on the dosages of psilocybin in relation to its efficacy, indicating that there was more headache pain relief amongst macrodosers, with a difference of 12.3% of participants experiencing pain reduction 3 days after dosage in comparison to microdosers. 18% of participants who experienced essential headaches also experienced hallucinations as a result of ingested psilocybin. Others showed a temporary increase in symptoms of anxiety and pain - 5.3% with microdosing and 14.1% macrodosing. One study observed an increase in average arterial pressure after ingestion.

Six of eight screened papers showed that psilocybin was clinically significant in the treatment of headaches as captured through self-reports. While the first controlled study for psilocybin use for headaches was detailed in this study, psilocybin remains illegal in many countries, presenting a need for further regulated research.

There is a complex relationship between smoking, mental health and diabetes. On one side, there is a bidirectional relationship between tobacco and depression: smokers are more at risk to suffer from depression compared with non-smokers and smoking cessation is associated with mood improvement. Moreover, persons with depressive disorders may be particularly vulnerable to nicotine addiction and are less likely to quit smoking. On the other side, a strong association is observed between depression and diabetes. Gender and sex have also been described as influencing the associations between these different pathologies.

Our aim was to determine if and how this relationship exist in a population with diabetes and to assess the impact of smoking reduction on depressive, anxiety symptoms and a health assessment score. We tried also to highlight the potential differences that we find between men and women.

Data were collected from a randomized controlled trial evaluating the 1-year efficacy of smoking cessation interventions in a population of smokers with type 2 diabetes. PHQ-9, GAD-7 and SF12 scores were used to assess depressive, anxiety symptoms and health assessment. We used STATA to perform data analysis.

48 participants were recruited in this study. Women represent 60,4% of the population and men 39,6%. The mean age was 61,9 years old (SD 9.93). The mean depression, anxiety and health assessment scores were 4.1 (SD 4.55), 3.4 (SD 4.83) and 3.0 (SD 0.69) respectively. There were no significant differences between women and men scores. Women tended to have higher depression and anxiety scores, whether they reduced their consumption or not. Men who decreased their smoking consumption (reducers) tended to have better mental health scores than women at baseline. In both genders, we found a trend toward improvement in depressive, anxiety and health assessment scores of participants that reduced their tobacco consumption. We assessed a loss of 1.8 (SD 2.58, p-value= 0.424 ) and 1.7 (SD 3.20, p-value=0.448 ) points to their depressive and anxiety scores respectively while non-reducers only lost 0.6 (SD 4.03*) and 0.7 (SD 2.88**) points respectively.

Our study suggests that differences between genders exist and that there are improvement differences in scores of people who reduced their tobacco consumption compared to people who didn’t reduce their consumption. However, none of our results were significant. A study with a greater number of participants and with more strength should be done to confirm our hypotheses.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is associated with high mortality, disability and morbidity. Studies demonstrated mixed results on effects of depression treatments on quality of life (QOL).

To evaluate the severity of depression among Jordanian patients diagnosed with MDD before and after treatment and to find any relationship between QOL, depression severity and perceived cognitive dysfunction.

Patients from both genders, 18-65 years old and diagnosed with MDD were included to attend two visits; at baseline and 6 weeks after treatment, in each they completed three questionnaires: Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) for depression severity, patient-rated Perceived Deficit Questionnaire (PDQ-5) for cognitive function, and World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief (WHOQOL-BREF) format.

A total of 92 patients completed the study. The scores of the different questionnaires and their correlations before and after treatment are presented in tables 1 and 2. Correlations between PHQ-9 and PDQ-5 before and after treatment are illustrated in figs 1 and 2, respectively.Table 1:

Among the coping resources, the authors single out motivation, locus of control, resilience, self-control, purposefulness, outlook, intelligence, etc.

The purpose of the study is the analysis of literary sources regarding the study of the locus of control as a personal coping resource of an athlete.

To realize the goal of the work, the following were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of literary sources and Internet data.

According to the results of research by domestic scientists, the locus of control and responsibility can act as a coping resource. It was found that the internal locus of control is associated with a low level of anxiety, and the external one with a high one; in addition, an inverse relationship between the locus of control and the level of neuroticism was found (Dementiy, 2005). This indicates that respondents with an internal locus of control are more stable in their behavior in situations that provoke anxiety and actualize personal anxiety. Internality allows a person to maintain a sense of control over the situation and his condition. It has been proven that the relationship between the locus of control and the state of anxiety depends on volitional self-control. However, along with this, the phenomenon of “heaviness of responsibility” is known in the scientific literature, which manifests itself in a sharp increase in anxiety with an internal locus of control. This may indicate that internality “loses” its resourcefulness under certain conditions: relationships between internality and anxiety are evident only at a low level of self-control. In the case when a person has developed self-control, such a connection is broken.

The generally accepted structure of personal resources, which determine the effective behavior of an individual under conditions of stress, has not yet been formed. Locus of control can act as a coping resource in the structure of self-regulation of an individual.

Mental health problems increase the risk for long-term sick leaves, early transitions to disability pensions and unstable career paths. Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based program integrated into psychiatric care aiming to support individuals with serious mental illness in finding employment. One key element in the implementation of the program is that the program is adequately integrated into the psychiatric care. However, knowledge on implementation challenges as well as best practices experienced by the practitioners, especially from the perspective of professionals in psychiatric care, is limited.

The Finnish Individual Placement and Support Evaluation Study (2020-2023) aims at investigating the implementation, feasibility as well as perceived benefits and outcomes of IPS program. The present study focuses on experiences on implementation of the program in the psychiatric care.

Both quantitative and qualitative data from different stakeholders have been and will be collected. The data collection will be finished at the end of 2022. For the present study, data among professionals (psychiatric nurses and psychiatrists) in the psychiatric care has been and will be collected using questionnaires (n=58) and individual interviews (n=17). Among IPS employment specialist delivering the program, the data have been / will be collected using focus group interviews (6 focus groups, n=29) and workshops.

The preliminary findings of the study show that the key elements in successful implementation of the IPS program into the psychiatric care are sufficient information about the program among professionals in the psychiatric care, adequate flow of information between IPS employment specialists and psychiatric care (including regular meetings) and facilities promoting the co-operation (including physical space and common information system). Majority of professionals in psychiatric care reported that the client-related communication with the IPS employment specialist had been active (81%) and adequate (76%).

Successful implementation and integration of the IPS program into psychiatric care requires seamless cooperation and communication between mental health professionals and IPS employment specialists, especially in cases when the IPS employment specialists do not have access to patient information due to confidentiality legislation.

Depression and coronary artery disease (CAD) are often comorbid conditions. The presence of depression significantly interferes with the recovery after CAD therapy intervention, such as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), one of the most common medical procedures in developed countries. Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) has a major role in angiogenesis and neuromodulation. Its levels were previously shown to be reduced in patients with depression, and latest studies indicate similar in patients with CAD. However, the correlation of BDNF levels and depression after CAD treatment is unknown.

The aim of this preliminary study is to assess the changes in BDNF levels in patients with depressive symptoms during a six-month period upon PCI.

Antidepressant-free participants that underwent PCI with stent placement due to myocardial infarction or angina pectoris were enrolled in the study. Depressive symptoms were evaluated at baseline using the Beck’s Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) with a cut-off score ≥20 indicating moderate depression. Serum BDNF levels were measured from blood samples drawn a day after (baseline) and six-months upon a successful PCI without complications. The t-test for dependent samples was used with marked significant differences at p<0,05.

Altogether, 76 participants were included in the study, of which 25 finished a six-month follow-up. Participants with BDI-II≥20 at baseline had higher serum BDNF levels in the second measurement (M=23,12, SD=6,20; M=32,02, SD=12,26, respectively). No significant difference was found in serum BDNF levels in measurements between participants with and without depressive symptoms (t=0,33, p=0,74; t=-1,40, p=0,18, respectively). Statistically significant difference was found between serum BDNF in the first and second measurement in the overall sample (t=-2,28, p=0,03) and in participants with baseline moderate depressive symptoms (t=-2,46, p= 0,03), but not in those without (t=-0,59, p=0,57).

Serum BDNF levels in participants with baseline moderate depressive symptoms increased after a six-month period upon successful PCI treatment, whereas that trend was not observed in participants without depressive symptoms. This highlights the potential synergistic role of BDNF in comorbid depression and CAD.

There is accumulating evidence that SARS-CoV-2 infection, apart from physical complications, can cause a variety of symptoms related to mental health, either during the acute phase of the infection or following the resolution of acute COVID-19 (i.e., long-COVID).

To investigate the demographic and clinical characteristics of a sample of hospitalized patients with COVID-19.

Data were collected from 1 January 2021 to 31 May 2022. In particular, clinical and demographic characteristics of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at the “Attikon” University General Hospital and who were referred for assessment to the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry unit were collected and analyzed.

During the study period, 107 patients, 66 men (62%) and 41 women (38%) with a mean age of 63 years, with COVID-19 were referred to the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry unit for evaluation. Among them, 58 (54.6%) had a previous psychiatric history, while 49 (45.4%) were assessed for the first time by a mental health professional. The most frequent psychiatric manifestations included anxiety manifestations [38 patients (36%)], delirium [37 patients (35%)] and depressive manifestations [15 patients (14%)].

The description of demographic and clinical characteristics of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with concurrent psychiatric manifestations highlights the importance of early clinical detection of psychiatric comorbidity by physicians with a view to ensuring that patients’ needs are supported in an integrated, holistic and patient-centric manner.

Career self-exploration activities can be defined as orienting oneself in one’s own vocational interests, skills, job, and organizational characteristics and as an important career pre-decision stage (Stumpf et al., 1983). Effective career exploratory behaviors are associated with less anxiety regarding uncertainty and difficulties during first career decision-making (Storme, Celik, 2017; Xu et al., 2014). In Study 1, we showed that productive career self-exploration in adolescence is associated with a high level of tolerance for uncertainty (TU) (Chesnokova, Churbanova et al., 2022).

The aim of Study 2 was to compare the social intelligence (SI) and creativity (Cr) of students with high and low level career adapt-abilities applied to present and prospective future career decisions.

Participants were 67 students (15-17 years old). SI was assessed by O’Sullivan & Guilford’s Tests (1966), Cr was measured by CAP consisted of Test of Divergent Thinking and Test of Divergent Feeling (Williams, 1980). Career adapt-abilities were estimated by CAAS (Savickas & Porfeli, 2012; Pryazhnikov, 2016).

Two contrast clusters based on SI and Cr mediated by TU level were analysed. One cluster included students with high pragmatic motivation concerning career path choice. There were students with high TU, high SI and cognitive Cr and low level of Divergent Feeling who focusing on nearest obstacles like entrance exams and distant professional future (professional revenues, social status and on task-oriented content). They are open to new career experiences and flexible in career choice (at r .56, p .001), but they lack social intelligence’s diplomatic techniques and cognitively complicated interpersonal situational awareness. They mostly rely on academic aptitude and self-efficacy. The second cluster of students was made up of those with low TU, average to low SI, and high levels of divergent feelings. They exhibited less pragmatist motivation and active career exploratory behaviors regarding both immediate and long-term professional paths, professional values, the human aspects of potential careers, the social structure of professional society, and the need to use emotional intelligence when interacting with clients and working in teams. They rely on social support from professional representatives and teachers during their career decision making.

In sum, SI and Divergent feelings may be significant mediators in the development of career adaptability and realistic self-perceived confidence in task-oriented content as well as interpersonal specificity of professional social environments. To reduce stress and anxiety of prospective students, the development of self-efficacy and motivation should be given priority over just academic readiness for exams and narrow professional skills.

Primary hypothyroidism has been extensively associated with the presence of depressive symptoms in major depressive and bipolar disorders; however, the association between psychosis and hypothyroidism has received less attention.

We aimed to present two cases of patients with delusional disorder (DD) and hypothyroidism and review studies focused on this association.

Two case-studies. Case A: 58 year-old woman with DD who presented a worsening of psychotic symptoms in association with the occurrence of newly diagnosed hypothyroidism. Risperidone 1mg daily was initiated. A combination of levothyroxine 100 mcg/day and paroxetine 20mg/day was started. Case B: 51 year-old DD women with remission of delusional symptoms, who presented occurrence of depressive symptoms and panic attacks with agoraphobia. Olanzapine 5 mg/day and venlafaxine 225 mg/day were started combined with levothyroxine 75 mcg/day.

Review: From a total of 159 records, 52 studies described an association between psychosis and hypothyroidism. Most of the studies are focused on the Myxedema madness, treatment of psychosis with comorbid hypothyroidism, and the role of thyroid function on emerging psychoses. Others: intellectual disability, epilepsy, psychosis, asthma, diabetes and heart failure. Genetic associations of Xq13 gene, encoding for nuclear receptors of thyroid receptors, with psychosis.

Many questions pertaining to DD and thyroid function remain unanswered. Treatment of hormonal comorbidities may be associated with a clinical improvement of psychotic symptoms.

Substance abuse is a major public health problem with high morbidity and mortality. Treatment – seeking opioid dependent individuals frequently report mood problems in the form of depression. The aim of this study was to evaluate the depression in patients with substance abuse.

We evaluated mood problems in the form of depression and health- related quality of life (HRQoL) among patients (20) with diagnosed opiate dependance who entered detoxification program and met the criteria for abstinence in period of one month, and compared with the results of 20 healthy controls consisted of secondary medical staff.

Almost all of the patients had a total PSQI score of 6 or higher, suggestive of depression, compared with control group (PSQI < 5).Patients had problems with a depression, taking antidepressives and problem to keep up enough enthusiasm to get things done (P < 0,05), compared with the control group.

SF-36 scores for psysical functioning, role-physical, bodily pain, social functioning, role-emotional, and mental health were significantly lower mean compared to control group. Patients with disease had a reduced HRQoL, related to control group.

Majority of heroin-dependent patients reported depression and reduced quality of life. These conclusions are limited, because data was collected via questionnares of patients were small. In future we plan to include more substace abuse patients.

Depression is a psychiatric disorder characterized by low mood and anhedonia. The diagnosis of depression and the initiation of treatment is important for improving quality of life and avoiding disability. Machine learning (ML), can be used for solving classification and regression problems.In this study, scores of multiple psychiatric scales were used to detect depression and different ML algorithms were used to study if they can help for diagnosing depression accurately.

The purpose of the study is to detect with high accuracy whether people are depressed or not by using widely used ML algorithms. It is also aimed to compare the algorithms used to predict depression with each other.

Data were collected from 96 university students. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory, Neo Personality Inventory, Chronic Stress Scale (CSS), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist (PTSD), SHAPS, Relationship Scales Questionnaire and Dissociative Events Scale were applied. 14 points from the BDI was accepted as the cut-off value as depressed. Total scores of each scale was used as the dependent variable in the Xgboost (XGB) to classify the depression. By XGB, the most important 4 of these surveys and scales were selected to use in the Non-Linear (NL) models such as XGB, Decision Trees (DT), Support Vector Machines (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). Lastly, a linear model as a Logistic Regression (LR) model was also used to compare with the NL algorithms. The success of the models was measured with the Cross Validation method, which is the gold standard in ML.

In the model in which all measurements are used as Independent Variables (IV), the XGB highlighted 4 scale scores: these are CSS, PSS, SHAPS and PTSD. All scale scores were used as IV, both XGB and DT classified depression with a success of 87.5%, while this score increased to 89.6% in both models when 4 prominent scales’ scores were used as IV. In the KNN, the classification made with prominent scales increased the success from 83% to 86%. The variance explanation rate of the LR model using 4 prominent scales remained at 58%.

With ML’s ability to solve NL relationships and dimensional reduction ability, models in which a large number of variables are input and there is no high correlation between dependent variables and IV can be classified with high success. Also, the success of the models was increased by choosing the most importants of the many IV and the variables that contributed negatively to the model could be excluded. The use of ML can yield promising results in fields such as psychiatry where linear relationships cannot be observed much.

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is associated with severe suffering and insomnia disorder (ID) (Fertuck et al., 2016; Galbiati et al., 2020).

The aim was to investigate the negative association between self-reported physical activity (PA) and the severity of BPD with ID acting as a mediator (St-Amour et al., 2021).

The role of ID within the association of PA with BPD was tested using mediation analysis with the statistical program R 4.3 (N = 120; RStudio Team, 2020).

Accordingly, ID does not appear to affect the association of PA and BPD severity whereas fewer PA and severe ID can nonetheless have a positive association with the symptoms of BPD in independent ways.

The purpose of the research project is to analyze the long-term evolution of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) from of a study of a cohort of patients prospectively followed over a period ranging from 5 to 20 years, treated for according to therapeutic guidelines mediating serotonin reuptake inhibitors (IRS) and drug enhancers (antipsychotics) and cognitive behavioral therapy and evaluated in a standardized manner.

To assess the long-term course of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in a cohort of patients treated according to current clinical guidelines; to analyse possible prognostic factors associated with the long-term course of the disorder including clinical and sociodemographic variables, as well as genetic and neuroimaging biomarkers, and their interaction, and finally to study neuroanatomical and functional cerebral connectivity changes after 15 years of treatment in a subsample of patients.

Prospective, descriptive, and observational study of a cohort of OCD patients, receiving treatment at the Department of Psychiatry of Hospital de Bellvitge since 1998, according to a standardized protocol. Follow-up period ranges from 5 (n=423), to 10 (n= 247) and 15 years (123). Baseline clinical and sociodemographic assessment, long-term evolution and information on treatments provided are available for the whole sample. Data on whole exome sequencing is available for 300 of the patients included in the cohort and baseline structural neuroimaging and cerebral functional connectivity has been analysed in 168 subjects. To expand the analysis of genetic biomarkers, we propose the study of de novo variants through exome analysis of 50 trios (patient and both parents) selected among those subjects that have reached 15 years of follow-up (25 trios with patients within the “long-term remission” group and 25 trios with patients with chronic OCD). De novo variants detected in the trio analysis will be replicated in the rest of the sample. A structural and resting state MRI will be obtained in a subsample of 100 patients recruited among those who have completed a minimum follow-up period of 15 years, to assess cerebral changes associated with the long-term course of the disorder.

The identification of those factors associated with an increased risk of chronic disease is an element essential to offer personalized treatment to our patients and improve their prognosis, emphasizing the intensive use of those therapeutic strategies for which we can predict a better response and modifying to the extent of, if possible, environmental factors or factors of access to treatment that contribute to perpetuate obsessive symptoms.

Mental health problems increase the risk for unstable career paths and often lead to early transition to disability pensions. Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based program integrated into psychiatric care helping individuals with serious mental illness to find competitive employment. It comprises personalized job search as well as individual in-work support for both the employee and the employer.

The Finnish Individual Placement and Support Evaluation Study (2020-2023) aims at investigating the implementation, feasibility as well as perceived benefits and outcomes of the IPS program implemented for the first time broadly in Finland. The present study focuses on the changes observed among program participants in employment status and psychosocial well-being during the 6- and 12-months follow-ups.

Both quantitative and qualitative data from different stakeholders have been and will be collected. The data collection will be finished at the end of 2022. The presentation focuses on findings from interviews (n=31) and from questionnaire data collected among program participants at baseline and at 6- and 12-months follow-ups. The total sample will comprise approximately 300 program participants (18−64 years of age) diagnosed with a severe mental illness.

Findings on changes in employment status as well as in psychosocial well-being (self-rated health and work ability, mental distress, positive mental health, self-esteem, satisfaction with life, social inclusion, and perceived social support) will be discussed at the congress. The preliminary findings of the study show that about half of the program participants have succeeded in getting employed at least once during the follow-up. However, becoming employed does not always result in increased psychosocial well-being. Work-related stress, meaningless or unsuitable job, problems at the workplace community or fear of being stigmatized may contribute toward decreased psychosocial well-being.

Meaningful work can play an important role in the process of recovery from mental illness. However, individuals with severe mental health problems need support with the working life related concerns and stress especially at the beginning of employment.

The first definition of PAS, enunciated by Richard Gardner in 1985, refers to a disorder originating in the context of legal conflicts related to child custody. Its main characteristic would be a smear campaign by the child towards a parent, in the absence of plausible arguments. In this context, the child would experience an oppositional and dichotomous feeling towards his or her parents. In recent years, the presence of PAS has become increasingly important, both in the legal and health fields, largely due to the controversy and debate surrounding its approval and recognition, and there is currently no consensus on the matter.

The main objective of this work is to examine the current state of PAS in depth in the different fields in which it is emerging: the medical-scientific and legal spheres. The current controversies and debate, both scientific and legal, will be developed. Research will be carried out on the origin of the concept and its evolution, its symptomatic presentation, the neuropsychological consequences in minors, the role and legal value of expert reports, as well as the existing evaluation methods for the assessment of PAS.

An extensive literature review was carried out on the subject in question, extracting information mainly from scientific articles, but also from legislative documents, manuals and books.

There are currently no specific laws regulating PAS in European countries. According to Article 10.2 of the Spanish Constitution, norms related to fundamental rights shall be interpreted according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As a direct consequence of the chronic psychological stresses experienced by children, adaptive disorders may appear, often characterised by symptoms of anxiety and depression. In addition, a multitude of neuropsychological consequences have been observed not only in the affected child, but also in the adult he or she will become.

Currently, there is a fervent debate about the validity and recognition of PAS as a diagnostic entity, spanning different disciplines, ranging from health to social and legal. In Europe, professionals in the scientific field have not reached an agreement regarding the approval of PAS. On the one hand, there are those for whom PAS is a verified phenomenon; on the other hand, there are those who flatly reject the existence of this phenomenon. The latter consider PAS an unscientific construct, referring to it as “court syndrome” or “patriarchal alienation syndrome”.

The coronavirus pandemic was declared one of the deadliest pandemics in the world’s history, surpassing even the 1918 flu pandemic in some countries. The speed with which the virus spread around the world did not leave the slightest chance to prepare even for protected health systems of developed countries, let alone countries with fragile health systems, experiencing a large number of problems at work even at regular times. Although burnout is included in the ICD-11 classification only as a syndrome caused by occupational stress and not a disease, unrecognized and unaddressed, it has the capacity to transform into a wide range of mental disorders, including depressive and anxiety disorders. This poses a threat to healthcare workers and patients, so it is very important to understand the scale of the problem and the factors that can play protective and triggering roles.

Our objective was to evaluate point-prevalence of burnout syndrome among healthcare workers from LMIC during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We conducted a systematic search in Ovid MEDLINE, Embase and PsycInfo, as well as a manual search in PubMed, Google Scholar and Grey Literature to select studies describing burnout prevalence in healthcare workers from low-and middle-income countries during the pandemic. We used a wide range of subject headings as well as main keywords, such as “mental health”, “burnout”, “coronavirus”, “health personnel”, “depression”, “anxiety”, “developing countries” and their synonyms study design search had no limitations and included cohort, case-control, cross-sectional and randomized controlled studies. All identified studies were screened and a final sample of relevant studies was used for data extraction and quality appraisal.

Data was extracted from 15 studies and included 21,007 individuals from eight countries. The proportion of female healthcare workers in our sample was 69% and the overall mean age of participants was 34.3 (2.3). Burnout prevalence varied from 3.62% to 90.1%. Gender, age, workload-related factors and institutional support were mentioned among the most important aspects influencing the burnout level. Clinical heterogeneity was a major drawback of our study as cut-off points for overall burnout and burnout sub-scales were inconsistent even among studies using the same inventory.

It is of critical importance to adopt a wide range of burnout preventive measures for healthcare workers, in particular, easy access to mental health support services, proper organization of human force and more comprehensive educational training in emergency situations. Furthermore, it is suggested, that researchers use a more precise and evidence-based approach to the use of measurement tools in order to increase the reliability of their work and recommendations.

For many years, the crime of rape has been the focus of attention of numerous representatives of criminal law doctrines, psychologists and sexologists, and is also part of the considerations of courts and penitentiary centers.

Statistical reports made available by the police clearly indicate that in recent years the problem of sexual crime has been growing, especially crimes consisting in committing a forbidden act such as rape or sexual murder.However, complete and objective data on the prevalence of sexual offenses are very difficult to obtain. Data from the judiciary statistics reveal only a narrow part of the problem of rape.

The project involves the analysis of the collected research results, the result of which will be the preparation of a report - a psychological and sexological profile - the characteristics of the convicts. The indicated analysis will be the result of research conducted in several penal facilities in the territory of Poland, including: Kraków, Warsaw, Poznań and others. on a research group comprising about 15% of the total number of prisoners for this crime.

The source of data on sexual offenders will be data obtained as a result of direct examinations of persons charged with rape, forensic psychiatric opinions, forensic psychological opinions and sexological opinions issued in their cases based on psychiatric and sexological tests commissioned by the court. The research material comes from the files of the perpetrators made available for the purposes of the study by the Central Board of the Prison Service. The authors of the project created a comprehensive perpetrator questionnaire containing a range of data including items on life line, origin, education, work, sexual preferences, sexual life, sexual initiation, psychiatric diagnoses and disorders of sexual preferences and personality.

A preliminary review of the available material gives grounds to conclude that the data it contains is comprehensive and has enormous scientific value. The created tool (based on a comprehensive analysis of the material) by the research team also includes items on the course of the act itself, the method of searching for victims, the method of persuading or forcing victims to submit to sexual activities, the repetition of the act and, finally, the perpetrator’s relationship to the criminal act committed by him.

The final report will be presented at the EPA conference.

The presented report will allow to get to know the characteristic elements of the psychological and sexological profile is a necessary condition for developing an effective strategy of social rehabilitation interactions.

There is an urgent need for sustainable thinking and practices in healthcare systems to meet the challenge of climate change (Charlesworth & Jamieson, 2019; Corvalan et al., 2020; Luykx & Voetterl, 2022; Madden et al., 2020). This need is accelerated by the recent energy crisis. According to an international NGO policy paper (Karliner et al., 2019) healthcare institutions are large energy consumers and major emitters. The (mental) health sectors of the Netherlands and Flanders, the northern part of Belgium, also greatly contribute to the global climate crisis. Both regions have per capita emissions (between the 0.50t and 1t) that fall just below the world’s healthcare top emitters.

To evaluate the state of sustainability in Dutch and Flemish mental health institutions (including psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community mental health centers) and assess whether certain differences can be found in the climate policies of these institutions between both regions.

Board members of mental health institutions were asked to complete a 20-item online survey in which concrete actions, objectives and ambitions in the field of sustainability were questioned. Frequencies and percentages were calculated for each question. For certain topics chi-squared tests were performed to test differences in sustainability issues addressed in the questionnaire between Dutch and Flemish mental healthcare institutions.

Survey response rates for Dutch and Flemish mental health institutions were 38% and 20%, respectively. Ninety-five percent and 38% of respectively the Dutch and Flemish institutions fully agreed that sustainability is a very important theme (χ2(1)=2,25, p=0,13). Key focus areas in both regions included sustainable energy transition (with half of the mental health institutions sourcing at least half of their energy via renewable energy resources and technologies) and recycling (almost 80% of the institutions). Statistically significant differences were found between both regions with regard to monitoring the environmental impact (Flanders 24% vs. The Netherlands 60%, χ2(1)=6,41, p=0,01) and fostering more sustainable commutes (Flanders 72% vs. The Netherlands 15%, χ2(1)=17,35, p<0,0001). The climate impact of medicines and food, as well as investments in sustainable projects, received little attention.

Although a substantial part of Dutch and Flemish mental health institutions consider sustainability (very) important, a systemic ‘transformation’ will be necessary to make them climate neutral, as tenets of practicing mental healthcare sustainably include more than sustainable energy transition and recycling (Monsell et al., 2021). Moreover, a lack of sufficient investment opportunities, partly due to a lack of financial resources, seems to be the main barrier for many mental healthcare institutions for quickly reaching sustainability goals.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is broadly defined as physical, sexual, or psychological harm inflicted by a current or former romantic partner or spouse. Unfortunately, even nowadays, the prevalence rates of IPV victimization are still very high, with over one third of women reporting any contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking and nearly half having psychological aggression in their lifetime. Amongst a complex network of risk factors for IPV, Personality disorders (PD) are one of the most researched. Defined as enduring patterns of inner experiences and behaviors, PD play a significant role in IPV, causing perpetrators to recidivate and victims of IPV to stay in violent relationships.

A case based approach is used to illustrate the association between Dependent Personality Disorder and Intimate Partner Violence

Case Report and Brief Literature review

Case: We present a case of a 65-year-old woman, long term followed by psychiatry for anxiety and depression symptoms, built upon a personality with dependent traits. The patient has been victim of intimate partner violence since her marriage, more than 40 years ago, generating significant psychopathology, functional impairment and several suicidal attempts over the years. Nonetheless, the patient feels emotionally attached and has pity for her husband. Despite this abuse had been already reported, the patient has been unable to act on the complaint, perpetuating this situatuon over time. The insight is totally preserved since the victim has full conscience of the causality between perpetrator cumulative abuse and her psychological and physical suffering. This case supports research in this area which had found that individuals with high levels of dependent PD traits tend to have higher ratings of relationship satisfaction and see their relationship in a more positive light, causing them to downplay the IPV they experience.

The prevalence of IPV poses a serious public health concern, particularly given the increased risk of physical and mental health problems that have been linked to IPV, such as chronic pain, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, substance use, and suicidal ideation, as well as a host of other negative outcomes. Individuals with high levels of dependent PD traits are prone to victimization, clinicians should be alert.

Large proportion of patients with ADHD experience sleep problems. Well conducted, good quality clinical research could identify non-pharmacological sleep improvement interventions that would benefit patients with ADHD and would inform evidence based guidelines for sleep management in ADHD.

To conduct a novel meta-research assessment of available clinical trials in the field of light therapy and non‑pharmacological sleep improvement interventions for people with ADHD.

Peer-reviewed publications of clinical trials were analysed. An advanced literature search strategy was performed in major medical databases, including EMBASE, MEDLINE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and PsycINFO. Available data at WHO-approved clinical trial registries were searched and linked to the published literature. Detailed methodological assessment of results was conducted using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool version 2.0 (ROB2), conflict of interest, spin and favourability of findings. Reduction in ADHD symptom severity and improvement of sleep quality served as primary outcomes for the efficacy analysis. Any adverse events were recorded. Statistical analysis of the primary outcomes was conducted by calculating standardised mean difference and transformed as necessary. Publication bias was evaluated with contour enhanced funnel plots and the trim-and-fill procedure, and by summarising unpublished trials.

Analysed clinical trials often had a high risk of bias (evaluated by the ROB2). The primary outcome interpretation and overall trial conclusions frequently favoured the trial intervention. Clinical trials showed an association between primary outcome effect size and interpretation, and risk of bias. Clinical research in this field faces many of the same challenges identified for complex interventions in mental health, such as small sample size, lack of funding and difficulties with blinding.

Clinical research regarding light therapy and non‑pharmacological sleep improvement interventions for ADHD patients indicates safety and effectiveness but studies often lack methodological rigour.
