1. Introduction. Let G be a rank 3 permutation group of even order on a finite set X, |X| = n, and let Δ and Γ be the two nontrivial orbits of G in X×X under componentwise action. As pointed out by Sims [6], results in [2] can be interpreted as implying that the graph = (X, Δ) is a strongly regular graph, the graph theoretical interpretation of the parameters k, l, λ and μ of [2] being as follows: k is the degree of , λ is the number of triangles containing a given edge, and μ is the number of paths of length 2 joining a given vertex P to each of the l vertices ≠ P which are not adjacent to P. The group G acts as an automorphism group on and on its complement = (X,Γ).

In this paper, the authors characterize pointwise multipliers for Campanato spaces on the Gauss measure space (ℝn,| · |,γ), which includes BMO(γ) as a special case. As applications, several examples of the pointwise multipliers are given. Also, the authors give an example of a nonnegative function in BMO(γ) but not in BLO(γ).

The infinite symmetric group is the discrete group of all finite permutations of the set X of all natural numbers. Among discrete groups, it has distinctive features from the viewpoint of representation theory and harmonic analysis. First, it is one of the most typical ICC-groups as well as free groups and known to be a group of non-type I. Secondly, it is a locally finite group, namely, the inductive limit of usual symmetric groups . Furthermore it is contained in infinite dimensional classical groups GL(ξ), O(ξ) and U(ξ) and their representation theories are related each other.

Let $Y$ be a compact complex manifold embedded in a complex manifold with unitary flat normal bundle. Our interest is in a sort of the linearizability problem of a neighborhood of $Y$. As a higher codimensional generalization of Ueda’s result, we give a sufficient condition for the existence of a nonsingular holomorphic foliation on a neighborhood of $Y$ which includes $Y$ as a leaf with unitary-linear holonomy. We apply this result to the existence problem of a smooth Hermitian metric with semipositive curvature on a nef line bundle.

A measure μ(dx) on R is said to be unimodal with mode a if μ(dx) = cδa(dx) + f(x) dx, where c ≧ 0, δa(dx) is the delta measure at a and f(x) is non-decreasing for x < a and non-increasing for x > a. A measure is said to be unimodal with mode a if pn is non-decreasing for n ≦ a and non-increasing for n ≧ a. A probability measure μ(dx) on R (resp. on Z) is said to be strongly unimodal on R (resp. on Z) if, for every unimodal probability measure η(dx) on R (resp. on Z), the convolution μ*η(dx) is unimodal on R (resp. on Z).

The aim of this paper is to establish the boundedness of fractional type Marcinkiewicz integral $\mathcal {M}_{\iota ,\rho ,m}$ and its commutator $\mathcal {M}_{\iota ,\rho ,m,b}$ on generalized Morrey spaces and on Morrey spaces over nonhomogeneous metric measure spaces which satisfy the upper doubling and geometrically doubling conditions. Under the assumption that the dominating function $\lambda $ satisfies $\epsilon $ -weak reverse doubling condition, the author proves that $\mathcal {M}_{\iota ,\rho ,m}$ is bounded on generalized Morrey space $L^{p,\phi }(\mu )$ and on Morrey space $M^{p}_{q}(\mu )$ . Furthermore, the boundedness of the commutator $\mathcal {M}_{\iota ,\rho ,m,b}$ generated by $\mathcal {M}_{\iota ,\rho ,m}$ and regularized $\mathrm {BMO}$ space with discrete coefficient (= $\widetilde {\mathrm {RBMO}}(\mu )$ ) on space $L^{p,\phi }(\mu )$ and on space $M^{p}_{q}(\mu )$ is also obtained.

Let (X, Y) be a smooth projective compactification with the non-normal irreducible boundary Y, namely, X is a smooth projective algebraic threefold and Y a non-normal irreducible divisor on X such that X – Y is isomorphic to C3. Then Y is ample and the canonical divisor Kx on X can be written as Kx = - r Y (1 ≦ r ≦ 4).

We first characterize the automorphism groups of Hodge structures of cubic threefolds and cubic fourfolds. Then we determine for some complex projective manifolds of small dimension (cubic surfaces, cubic threefolds, and nonhyperelliptic curves of genus 3 or 4), the action of their automorphism groups on Hodge structures of associated cyclic covers, and thus confirm conjectures made by Kudla and Rapoport in (Pacific J. Math. 260(2) (2012), 565–581).

This paper is concerned with mod p Morita-Mumford classes of the mapping class group Γg of a closed oriented surface of genus g ≥ 2, especially triviality and nontriviality of them. It is proved that is nilpotent if n ≡ − 1 (mod p − 1), while the stable mod p Morita-Mumford class is proved to be nontrivial and not nilpotent if n ≢ −1 (mod p − 1). With these results in mind, we conjecture that vanishes whenever n ≡ − 1 (mod p − 1), and obtain a few pieces of supporting evidence.

Quantum Markov chain introduced by Accardi (cf. [1,2,3]) is one of natural generalization of classical Markov chain. It has many interesting applications in physics and the most important one is given by the paper of Fannes-Nachtergaele-Werner ([4]), where an application of quantum Markov chain’s technique enables us to understand the Valence bond states well.

Varieties fibered into del Pezzo surfaces form a class of possible outputs of the minimal model program. It is known that del Pezzo fibrations of degrees $1$ and $2$ over the projective line with smooth total space satisfying the so-called $K^2$ -condition are birationally rigid: their Mori fiber space structure is unique. This implies that they are not birational to any Fano varieties, conic bundles, or other del Pezzo fibrations. In particular, they are irrational. The families of del Pezzo fibrations with smooth total space of degree $2$ are rather special, as for most families a general del Pezzo fibration has the simplest orbifold singularities. We prove that orbifold del Pezzo fibrations of degree $2$ over the projective line satisfying explicit generality conditions as well as a generalized $K^2$ -condition are birationally rigid.

Let $(X,\unicode[STIX]{x1D6E5})$ be an $n$-dimensional $\unicode[STIX]{x1D716}$-klt log $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano pair. We give an upper bound for the volume $\text{Vol}(X,\unicode[STIX]{x1D6E5})=(-(K_{X}+\unicode[STIX]{x1D6E5}))^{n}$ when $n=2$, or $n=3$ and $X$ is $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial of $\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}(X)=1$. This bound is essentially sharp for $n=2$. The main idea is to analyze the covering families of tigers constructed in J. McKernan (Boundedness of log terminal fano pairs of bounded index, preprint, 2002, arXiv:0205214). Existence of an upper bound for volumes is related to the Borisov–Alexeev–Borisov Conjecture, which asserts boundedness of the set of $\unicode[STIX]{x1D716}$-klt log $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano varieties of a given dimension $n$.

In the potential theory with respect to a non-symmetric function-kernel, the following theorem is obtained by M. Kishi ([3]).

Let (X, O) be a germ of a normal surface singularity, π: → X be the minimal resolution of singularities and let A = (ai,j) be the n × n symmetrical intersection matrix of the exceptional set of In an old preprint Nash proves that the set of arcs on a surface singularity is a scheme , and defines a map from the set of irreducible components of to the set of exceptional components of the minimal resolution of singularities of (X,O). He proved that this map is injective and ask if it is surjective. In this paper we consider the canonical decomposition

• • For any couple (Ei,Ej) of distinct exceptional components, we define Numerical Nash condition (NN(i,j)). We have that (NN(i,j)) implies In this paper we prove that (NN(i,j)) is always true for at least the half of couples (i,j).

• • The condition (NN(i,j)) is true for all couples (i,j) with i ≠ j, characterizes a certain class of negative definite matrices, that we call Nash matrices. If A is a Nash matrix then the Nash map N is bijective. In particular our results depend only on A and not on the topological type of the exceptional set.

• • We recover and improve considerably almost all results known on this topic and our proofs are new and elementary.

• • We give infinitely many other classes of singularities where Nash Conjecture is true.

The proofs are based on my old work [8] and in Plenat [10].

We show that the Specht ideal of a two-rowed partition is perfect over an arbitrary field, provided that the characteristic is either zero or bounded below by the size of the second row of the partition, and we show this lower bound is tight. We also establish perfection and other properties of certain variants of Specht ideals, and find a surprising connection to the weak Lefschetz property. Our results, in particular, give a self-contained proof of Cohen–Macaulayness of certain h-equals sets, a result previously obtained by Etingof–Gorsky–Losev over the complex numbers using rational Cherednik algebras.

The formal moduli for one-parameter formal Lie groups was constructed by Lubin and Tate (1) by using Lazard’s methods. The aime of this paper is to prove the existence of the formal moduli for higher dimensional formal groups.
