The threat and preservation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine are not new issues. During the last decade, peacetime (Peace, until 2013) was disrupted by active hostility (AH, 2014–2015) and trench warfare (TW, 2016–2021). War exert acute and chronic impacts on mental health, may be a substrate for mental health disorders, especially worrisome since, today, the large-scale conflict has demanded the recruitment of adult civilians to defend and fight alongside armed forces troops.

The analysis aimed to unveil the impact of those conflicts on the mental health of the army and help us to anticipate risk factors (ranks, time period) and need for resources (admissions and days of hospitalization per time period, rank and disease).

A retrospective cross-sectional analysis of an anonymized part of the internal database included 3995 anonymized records.Data are expressed as the frequency (%), fold-increase, or mean ± SEM. Chi-square analysis and ANOVA with Bonferroni post hoc correction were performed with Jamovi.

The temporal distribution of admissions (Figure 1) showed a 6.97 (AH) and 3.62 (TW) [5.02 (TW1, 2016–2017), 3.91 (TW2, 2018–2019), and 1.95 (TW3, 2020–2021)] fold increase per year compared to peacetime. The most frequent mental health problems, accounting for 76.1% of cases, were ‘anxiety, dissociative, stress-related, somatoform and other nonpsychotic disorders’ (F40-F48, ANXd, 40.1%) and ‘mental and behavioral disorders due to psychoactive substance use’ (F10–F19, PSUd, 36.0%). ‘Reaction to severe stress and adjustment disorders (F43, 76.5%) and ‘Alcohol-related disorders (F10, 89.3%) were the predominant mental health disorders, respectively.

The ICD-10 category depended on the war period (Figure 2), with peacetime to TW2 accounting for 90% of cases. ‘ANXd’ were the main mental health problem in any period, with 61.8% of cases occurring in peacetime. PSUd, residual in peacetime 6.1%, reached their peak in active hostility (47.4%), with 97.9% of ‘Alcohol-related disorders’ as the cause of these admissions, which could agree with the use of alcohol serving as a coping mechanism in front traumatic events. In trench warfare, PSUd decreased (TW1, 39.2%; TW2, 25.1%).

Hospital stays for people with ANXd or PSUd lasted at least one month in peacetime but significantly decreased in war periods (Figure 3). This could be explained by a ‘need for free beds effect’ and the distribution of admissions by ranks.

Psychiatric home hospitalisation is a service aiming to support people with mental illnesses in their acute stage at their own home. This care model has been recently implemented in our territory with the main objective of avoiding hospital admissions.

Our goal is to describe a cohort of patients followed up over 2-years in the context of a pilot mental health program within a community-based model (Mutua Terrassa University Hospital).

We conducted a prospective longitudinal study including 125 patients attended from 01/11/2020 to 09/11/2022 in our reference area of 250,000 inhabitants. The team was formed by 1 psychiatrist and 1 mental health nurse. DSM-5 diagnoses, socio-demographic variables, mean stay and care trajectories were collected.

One-hundred twenty-five patients were attended (women: 70). Mean age at consultation: 38.3 years-old. Mean stay: 24 days. The most frequent diagnoses: non-affective psychotic disorders (58%), affective disorders (30%), followed by anxiety and personality disorders. Referrals from Community Mental Health Outpatient Services (CMHS) (72%), Acute Inpatient Unit (25%), and Psychiatric Emergency Service (3%). Referrals after discharge: CMHS (83%), Adult Acute Inpatient Unit (13%), others (4%). Individualized mental health plans were carried out in all cases, in coordination with community mental health services. Follow-up adherence after discharge was about 95%. Patients with first-episode of psychosis showed the highest degree of satisfaction (N=46).

Patients with emerging psychosis were the profile of users who showed the highest benefit of our service. Women showed higher adherence, and loss to follow-up was lower than we expected.

Emotional competence is fundamental in the communication that nurses establish with the people they relate to, and therapeutic communication is a crucial tool in nursing care.

This study aimed to understand the influence of nurses’ emotional competence in therapeutic communication with people with manifestations of mental disorder in a portuguese general hospital.

A descriptive-correlational and transversal study was performed. The sample consisted of 171 nurses from a general hospital in the Azores. Data were collected between May and July 2021, using an instrument that includes the sociodemographic and professional questionnaire, the Veiga Scale of Emotional Competence–Reduced version [EVCE-Reduced] (Veiga-Branco, 2021) and the questionnaire “Therapeutic communication: use by nurses” (adapted from Coelho, 2015).

Nurses, mostly female, aged between 31 and 40 years, show moderate levels of emotional competence. Specialized nurses with more time in professional practice demonstrate to be more emotionally literate. The EVCE-Reduced demonstrates good internal reliability. Self-motivation was the most predictive capacity of emotional competence, and self-awareness the capacity with the highest average. Three communication profiles were delineated, with Profile 1 (Nurse centered on the person and on themselves) the most representative. Although there is no correlation between emotional competence and therapeutic communication, it was evident that the more empathetic nurses perceive themselves, the more they use therapeutic communication techniques; and the better they manage emotions, the more they mobilize therapeutic communication techniques and attitudes towards people with manifestations of mental disorder.

In view of the results, it is important to deepen the way in which therapeutic communication and emotional competence are manifested in professional practice, what facilitates or inhibits its expression, and how its development can be enhanced. In this sense, health institutions must implement actions for the education and training of nurses, through the contribution of specialized practice in Mental Health Nursing, allowing for the improvement of emotional literacy and performance in work contexts.

Mental healthcare represents a significant issue for the Healthcare System [1]: one of the major causes is the high heterogeneity in the provision of care, due to the differences among the Departments of Mental Health (DMHs).

To identify the predictors of an adequate treatment for patients with severe mental disorders (SMDs), both at an individual and structural level, the latter considering the major features of the Psychiatric Operative Units (POUs), in the Italian region Lombardy.

Healthcare Utilization Databases, collecting data on the services provided to beneficiaries of the National Health Service (NHS), have been used to retrieve data.

Patients that during 2015 were resident in Lombardy; suffered from depressive, bipolar or schizophrenic disorder; were in contact with the DMHs, have been identified.

Adequateness of treatment has been evaluated according to the Minimally Adequate Treatment (MAT) [2,3]: a combination of psychiatric visits and specific pharmacological treatment, or psychotherapeutic sessions. Having received a MAT has been assessed during a one-year period.

Predictive factors have been classified into two hierarchical levels: individual (first) level and structural (second) level. At the first level, clinical and socio-demographics characteristics have been evaluated for each patient. At the second level, the organizational structure of each POU has been examined: the number of patients taken in care, number of community-care facilities, and hours worked by each class of healthcare providers (psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, psychosocial staff).

A log-binomial model has been used to evaluate the association between the first-level factors and having received a MAT; a multilevel log-binomial model for the second-level factors considered the hierarchical structure of data.

72115 patients have been identified: 33974 (47.1%), 28407 (39.4%) and 9734 (13.5%) suffering from depressive, schizophrenic or bipolar disorder respectively; 45.4% of them (32773 patients) received a MAT.

Compared with patients affected by depression, those with bipolar or schizophrenic disorder show a higher probability of receiving a MAT (+23%, +11% respectively).

Patients living alone have a lower probability of receiving a MAT, unlike patients with a higher level of education or employment, underlining the social burden related to SMDs.

Organizational features have proven significant: centres with a higher activity volume and with more community-care facilities seem more likely to guarantee MAT. Moreover, the higher the hours worked by psychiatrists, nurses and psychologists, the higher the probability of providing MAT.

Patients with SMDs are still untreated in an appropriate way. Results highlight the importance of the community-care facilities, as well as of the composition of the multidisciplinary teams working there.

When mental health service providers, service users and their carers/family are successfully integrated, widespread benefits will flow to all stakeholders. However, mental health services do not commonly engage with carers or family.

This presentation describes (a) an extensive review of the literature and (b) empirical research with carers and family about what they received and wanted from engagement with mental health services.

A mixed method online survey asked 134 family members and carers what they received and what they wanted from mental health services. Participants also quantified the importance of seven hypothesised core practices on a 0-100 point likert scale.

Almost 250 verbatim responses were deductively matched against hypothesised engagement practices from the literature, with additional unaligned responses inductively categorised. The findings triangulate with multiple diverse literatures to confirm seven fundamental engagement practices that carers and family want from health services. Conceptually, these practices are represented by two broad overarching practice themes of (i) meeting the needs of the family member and (ii) addressing the needs of the service user.

Policy, clinical practice, training and future research might encompass these core practices along with consideration of the intertwined relationship of family, carers and the service user suggested by the two broader concepts.

With the projected increase in the number of older persons in both low and middle-income countries, the burden of Alzheimer’s and related dementia diseases (AD/ARDs) is projected to increase as well. However, the health systems are inadequately prepared to offer optimal care for patients with AD/ARDs, despite the growing disease burden.

The aim of this study was to assess the capacity of the health facilities to optimally manage Alzheimer’s and related dementia diseases in the Mukono district

We conducted a cross-sectional between August and December 2018. A survey of 32 facilities (3 hospitals, 2 health center IV (HCIV), 15 health center III (HCIII) and 6 health center II (HCII), and 6 Private health facilities) in Mukono district. We conducted a thorough assessment of medical records, interviewed heads of the facilities, and a questionnaire was administered to 46 health workers. The study assessed the service provision for AD/ARDs, Knowledge of AD/ARDs management, challenges, and opportunities.

Out of 32 health facilities assessed, 4 in 10 (42%) facilities reported managing (diagnosing/treating) clients with AD/ARDs, and the majority (90.2%) were run by Non-Physician Health Workers (NPHW). Only 2 in 10 had guidelines for managing AD/ARDs. Less than half (46.4%) had AD/ARDs medicines in stock (mainly Haloperidol) and all of the private facilities lacked essential medicine to treat AD/ARDs. All health center IIs lacked drugs for AD/ARDs. A significant knowledge gap in assessing and diagnosing AD/ARDs was observed among all the health workers. All health workers highlighted the need for additional training in AD/ARDs. A multitude of client and health provider challenges were observed in this study

Health facilities in Mukono district are inadequately prepared to offer optimal services for the management of AD/ARDs. AD/ARDs drugs, knowledge gap, and human resources for health presented a great challenge. In order to address the inadequately capacity to manage AD/ARDs, emphasis should be dwelt on strengthening the health facilities.

A try to protect people diagnosed with dementia, from the COVID virus, during pandemic period could easily lead to isolation and hinder them to reach the needed medical care.

Research question refer to accessibility during pandemic to psychiatric services of patients with dementia.

The consultations of patients with dementia of an outpatient setting where analyzed before (2019-2020) and during pandemic (2020-2021). We evaluate the consultations frequency, characteristics of patients, comorbidities and treatment changes.

A total number of 965 consultation (493/472) were analyzed. There was no statistically significant difference between the number of consultations before and during the pandemic, which means that the patients had access to medical assistance with the same frequency as before the pandemic. (p=0.63) There was no statistically significant difference in different environment groups (urban/rural). (p= 0.53) Telemedicine (videoconference) and phone consultation where also used during pandemic period. 63,6% of those in rural area chosed telemedicine and 9% phone consultation. Significantly more patients from the urban area were consulted on-site during the Covid pandemic. (p=0.04) Despite the risk, patients with comorbidities had visited more often the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. (p=0.012) In 39 % of cases there was worsen evolution and a drug change: most frequent add it a hypnotic or an antipsychotic.

The accessibility of the psychiatry clinic during the pandemic was at all times possible for dementia patients. Telemedicine ensured an ongoing consultation flow for the patients.

The main elements of improving dementia diagnosis rate and improved time to diagnosis are:

1) Pre-diagnostic support through appointment of Dementia Coordinators

2) Transformation of memory services using Quality Improvement methodology to an Enhanced memory assessment and intervention model, which includes diagnosis within six weeks of the GP referral by offering assessment and diagnosis on the same day by clinicians as opposed to a lead time of 18 weeks previously.

3) Increased dementia diagnosis capacity by training primary care colleagues and creating GP with extended roles posts to diagnose non-complex dementia referrals.

4) Introducing a screening tool to diagnose people with dementia in care homes avoiding the need to refer to secondary care services.

5) Having a shared electronic patient record system across the county which enables quick and easy access to patient records.

In the UK dementia diagnosis rates, dropped from 67.6% in February 2020 to 63.2% in December 2020. Post COVID-19 recovery in dementia diagnosis is happening across the country and Kent is ahead at 9% with increase in dementia diagnosis rates compared to a national average of 0.5% increase.

The integrated care system in Kent has enabled collaborative working across organisations to improved dementia diagnosis rates at a fast pace, an example for other health care systems.

In Kent a county-wide, Dementia Special interest group has provided the platform to introduce innovation collaboratively across the entire county and has made a significant difference to people with dementia across the whole pathway of care that has particularly improved time to diagnosis.

Cognitive aging is defined as the cognitive decline during the aging process. Most cognitive skills deteriorate in old age; however, there are individual differences in the speed of the decline and severity of neuropsychological deficits.

The aim of the study was to delineate the associations of sociodemographic, clinical, and lifestyle factors with cognitive aging.

302 participants aged 60 years and above (mean age 69,6±7,2; range 60-92 years) were included in the study. Women were 69.9% of the group (N = 211). Subjects completed the questionnaire (sociodemographic and anthropometric data, chronic diseases), and depression intensity was assessed by Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Cognitive functions were evaluated using MiniMental State Examination, Trail Making Test, Stroop test, and selected tests from CANTAB battery (Pattern Recognition Memory, Spatial Recognition Memory, Spatial Span, Spatial Working Memory).

Age influenced most of the studied cognitive functions. Higher education level and more frequent cognitive activities (e.g. reading and crosswords) had a protective effect on the performance of tests assessing working memory and executive functions. Working memory and attention assessed in the Stroop test in part B were most sensitive to the negative impact of age, lower education level, and lower frequency of cognitive activity. Higher body mass index (BMI≥28) and diabetes were associated with worse spatial working memory.

The results suggesting the association between lifestyle factors – cognitive activity and cognitive functions can contribute to the development of interventions aimed at the preservation of cognitive functions in older age.

Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) are common during the course of neurocognitive disorders. NPS have been previously reported in early and late stages of Alzheimer’s Disease. However, our understanding of NPS in high-risk states for dementia such as mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and major depressive disorder (MDD) is poor.

To compare the frequency and factor structure of neuropsychiatric symptoms among individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in remission, and comorbid MCI and MDD (in remission) (MCI-D).

We used baseline data from the Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia with Cognitive Remediation Plus Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Mild Cognitive Impairment and Depression (PACt-MD) study, a multicenter trial across five academic sites in Toronto, Canada (clinical trial No. NCT0238667). We used ANOVA or χ2-test to compare frequency of NPS across groups. We used factor analysis of Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire (NPI-Q) items in the three groups.

We included 374 participants with a mean age of 72.0 years (SD = 6.3). In the overall sample, at least one NPS was present in 64.2% participants, and 36.1 % had at least moderate severity NPS (36.1%). Depression (54%, χ2 < 0.001) and apathy (28.7%, χ2=0.002) were more prevalent in the MCI-D group as compared to MCI and MDD groups. In factor analysis, NPS grouped differently in MCI, MDD, and MCI-D groups. A “psychotic” subgroup emerged among MCI and MCI-D, but not in MDD. Night-time behaviors and disinhibition grouped differently across all three groups.

Prevalence of NPS seems higher in persons with MCI-D as compared to those with only MCI or MDD. The factor structure of NPS differed between MCI, MDD, and MCI-D groups. Future studies should investigate the association of NPS factors with cognition, function, and illness biomarkers.

Although risk of developing dementia increase in later years, identification and assessment of older persons with dementia in developing countries is still low. Access to easy and user friendly cognitive screening tools by the health care professional in developing countries is difficult.

The study aimed to develop, validate and field test the cognitive screening tool for use in outpatient departments within health facilities in Uganda.

In the rural eastern region of Uganda, twenty-three (23) purposively selected health facilities and administered a scientifically derived cognitive screening tools to all eligible older persons. We conducted an inter-rater reliability in all the health facilities using three raters. Diagnosis of dementia (DSM-IV) was classified as a major cognitive impairment and was quality checked by physiatrist who were blinded to results of the screening assessment.

The area under the receiver operating characterizes (AUROC) curve in health facilities was 0.912. The inter-rater reliability was good (Intra-class correlation coefficient of 0.692 to 0.734). the predictive accuracy of the tool to discriminate between dementia and other cognitive impairment was 0.892. In regression modal, the cognitive screening tool, didn’t appear to be biased by age.

The cognitive screening tool if performed well among the older persons, can be proved useful for screening dementia in other developing countries

Patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) have a high risk of transition to Alzheimer’s disease. Analysis of potential biomarkers of conversion to dementia in this clinical group is crucial for prognosis and early intervention.

The aim of the pilot study was to compare whole-brain functioning characteristics (fMRI, spontaneous activity and local coherence) in aMCI converters and non-converters to dementia.

Nine aMCI converters to dementia of the Alzheimer’s type (mean age 69.2 ± 8.2; 9 females) and ten aMCI non-converters (mean age 65.9 ± 6.1; 8 females) underwent resting-state fMRI (3T). All patients were followed up for three years. Baseline whole-brain amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFF) and local coherence (LCOR) were compared between groups (CONN-fMRI toolbox 19.с, https://web.conn-toolbox.org/; p < .001 voxelwise, p(FDR) < .05 clusterwise). Age was included in the analyses as a second-level covariate.

As compared to non-converters, aMCI converters were characterized by higher ALFF and LCOR values in the cluster located in the frontal medial cortex and frontal pole bilaterally.

Frontal medial cortex and frontal pole are involved in a wide range of cognitive functions, including episodic memory and “hot” (motivational) executive control (Rolls. ProgNeurobiol 2022; 217; Friedman, Robbins. Neuropsychopharmacology 2022; 47(1) 72-89). Both increased and decreased LCOR/ALFF values in aMCI converters compared to non-converters were found, although in the other regions (Mondragón et al. Dement Geriatr Cogn Dis Extra 2021; 11(3) 235–249; Khatri, Kwon. Front Aging Neurosci. 2022; 14). It seems reasonable to clarify if the brain functional features revealed in our study are the markers of conversion to dementia in aMCI.

Personality disorder (PD) is defined as an enduring and inflexible pattern of long duration leading to significant distress or impairment and is not due to the use of substances or another medical condition. In general, the main form of therapy for PD is psychotherapy, with adjuvant pharmacotherapy. Due to a predisposition to instability and decompensation, individuals with PD are more likely to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital. With the passing of time, the frequency of PD diagnosis has been rising.

The study aimed to assess changes in the prevalence of PD diagnosis between the years 2009 and 2021 in the Psychiatric Central Clinical Hospital of the Medical University of Lodz (Poland) and the characteristics of admitted patients.

This retrospective included 27097 records of patients admitted for psychiatric hospitalization between the years 2009 and 2021. The diagnosis of PD (F60 and F61) was based on ICD-10 diagnostic criteria. For analysis, both main, as well as coexisting diagnoses of PD were included. For the analysis patients were divided into subgroups based on age and legal gender.

We observed a statistically significant increase in the number of hospitalization of individuals with PD (6,94% in 2009 and 14,29% in 2021; p<0.0001). No rise in the frequency of F60 diagnosis was observed (4,56% in 2009 and 4,48%; p=0.973, while the diagnosis of mixed PD (F61) has greatly risen (2,38% in 2009 and in 9,81% in 2021; p=0.003), this growth was especially visible in men (1,62% in 2009 and 10,44% in 2021; p=0.007). In individuals above the age of 35 at the time of hospitalization significant growth in PD diagnosis was present (5,22% in 2009 and in 8,25% in 2021; p=0.003), similarly, PD increased in patients older than 65 (0,50% in 2009 and in 4,00% in 2021; p=0.003).

In the past 13 years, there has been a great increase in the number of hospitalized individuals with PD, particularly the rise reflects growth in mixed PD diagnosis. Interestingly, in men, PD diagnosis is 4 times more frequent in 2021 than in 2009. The increase in the number of PD diagnoses in changing environment might be due to greater clinical vigilance of psychiatrists and a more in-depth diagnostic process, yet further analysis including data from the outpatient clinic is needed.

The Portuguese version of the Big Three Perfectionism Scale (BTPS), a 45-item self-report measure of rigid, self-critical, and narcissistic perfectionism, presented good reliability, construct and concurrent validity both in a sample of university students (Lino, Pereira et al. 2018) and of adults from the general population (Oliveira, Pereira et al. 2021).

To develop and validate a Portuguese brief version of the BTPS, the Big Three Perfectionism Scale–Short Form (BTPS-SF) in a sample of university students.

The procedure followed to select items for the short version was based on the 45-items BTPS confirmatory factorial analysis (Lino, Pereira et al. 2018). Following Feher et al. (2020) strategy, with Canadian university students, we retained between one and two from each of the 10 perfectionism facets in the BTPS, 16 items in total. The 16 items selected had loadings ranging from .63 to .88 (Lino, Pereira et al. 2018), thus meeting the suggested requirement of high loadings being above .60 in magnitude (Afifi et al. 2011).

Participants were 633 Portuguese students (medicine, dentistry and health technologies; 82.1% girls; mean age=21.25±3.115); they answered an online survey including the BTPS and the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS; Xavier et al. 2017).

Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed that both the first (χ2/df=3.074; RMSEA=.0573, p<.001; CFI=.9591; TLI=.9478, GFI=.9465) and the second order (χ2/df=3.714; RMSEA=.0655, p<.001; CFI=.9482; TLI=.9317, GFI=.9318) models presented good fit indexes. The Cronbach’s alfas were: a=.865 for the total and .855, .829 and .750, respectively for F1 (rigid perfectionism), F2 (self-critical perfectionism) and F3 (narcissistic perfectionism). Pearson coefficient correlations with DASS total score were significant (p<.01), positive and moderate for the total 16-items- BTPS (r=.375), F1 (r=.285), F2 (r=.465) and low for F3 (r=.177). Correlation coefficients with Depression, Anxiety and Stress sub-scales presented the same pattern and magnitude.

Due to its good validity and reliability, the Portuguese BTPS–SF is an efficient and useful alternative to the 55-item version. When it is not necessary to measure the ten facets, the BTPS-SF has the advantages of conciseness, brevity and ease of filling.

Tasks for the categorization of emotional states cause difficulties in children with speech disorders, since they require a certain mastery of vocabulary for the designation of emotional states. As a result of limited communication in children, there is a lack of understanding of the meaning, causes and motives of the actions of other people, as well as the consequences of their actions, their impact on others.

Preschool children with motor disabilities are inferior to peers without developmental disabilities in accurate verbalization of emotional states, manifested in a primitive description of emotions.

Visually impaired preschool children do not have sufficiently clear ideas about socially acceptable actions in communication situations, about ways of expressing relationships with peers and adults.

Children with hearing impairment better understand the emotional states of their peers than the states of adults, but they do not know how to show their attitude towards their peers. Difficulties in verbalizing emotions are observed.

Children with autism spectrum disorder experience significant difficulties in recognizing various situations of interaction, isolating tasks and requirements set by adults in these situations; children practically did not try to depict an emotion, having difficulty in differentiating it.

The research confirmed the assumption that children with disabilities have significant difficulties in differentiating similar emotions, they do not accurately determine the emotional state of their peers and people around them. Neuroticism has societal, mental and physical health relevance, with an etiology involving genetic predisposition, psychological influence, and their interaction.

To understand whether the association between polygenic risk score for neuroticism (PRS-N) and neuroticism is moderated by affective well-being.

Data were derived from TwinssCan, a general population twin cohort (age range=15-35 years, 478 monozygotic twins). Self-report questionnaires were used to measure well-being and neuroticism. PRS-N was trained from the Genetics of Personality Consortium (GPC) and United Kingdom Biobank (UKB). Multilevel mixed-effects models were used to test baseline and changes in well-being and neuroticism.

Baseline wellbeing and neuroticism were associated (β=-1.35, p<0.001). PRSs-N were associated with baseline neuroticism (lowest p-value: 0.008 in GPC, 0.01 in UKB). In interaction models (PRS x wellbeing), GPC PRS-N (β=0.38, p=0.04) and UKB PRS-N (β=0.81, p<0.001) had significant interactions.

PRSs-N were associated with changes in neuroticism (lowest p-value: 0.03 in GPC, 0.3 in UKB). Furthermore, changes in wellbeing and neuroticism were associated (β =-0.66, p<0.001). In interaction models (PRS x change in wellbeing), only UKB PRS-N had a significant interaction (β=0.80, p<0.001).

Interaction between polygenic risk, wellbeing and neuroticism, were observed regarding baselines measures and change over time. Depending on the analysis step, the direction of the effect changed.

Adolescence is a development stage that stands out by normative challenges that comprise the creation of representations about the self and the others, the definition of a sense of identity, and adaptation of emotional regulatory strategies and behaviors in social contexts, particularly within the group of peers. However, these developmental tasks can raise psychological difficulties that may facilitate the emergence of psychopathology in adolescents.

Analyze the role of self-disgust in the relationship between early memories of warmth and safeness with peers and borderline personality features in adolescents.

Sample was composed of 451 adolescents (260 females and 185 males), with a mean of 15.55 years of age (SD = 1.49), who completed self-report questionnaires to assess early memories of warmth and safeness with peers (EMWSSPeers-A), self-disgust (MSDS-A) and borderline features (BPFS-C). Pearson’s correlation coefficients and a path analysis were performed using SPSS and PROCESS Macro.

Girls had higher values of self-disgust and borderline features than boys, as well as similar levels in early memories of warmth and safeness with peers. The mediation model was significant and explained 54% of the variance of the borderline traits, with early emotional positive memories with peers and self-disgust dimensions contributing significantly to the explanation model. Gender and exclusion (a specific dimension of the self-disgust scale) did not have predictive power in borderline features.

Our results contribute to a better understanding of the psychological mechanisms involved in the development of borderline traits and consequently to clinical practices and research on adolescence.

‘Dark Triad’ is a constellation of three conceptually distinct but empirically overlapping personality variables. The three members- Machiavellianism, narcissism and subclinical psychopathy – often show differential correlates but share a common core of callous-manipulation.

To validate an easy to use and valid measurement for subclinical populations examining the 3 factors of the dark triad of personality.

A pool of items designed to circumscribe the classic conceptions of the Dark Triad constructs used for the Short Dark Triad were translated using the multiple forward and backward translation protocol. Participants consisted of 391 adults recruited from social media. Participants were then asked to rate their agreement with each of the 44 items generated for the GSD3Q).

391 adults participated, 51 (13%) male, 340 (87%) female mean age 41.4(SD=10.8). Corrected Item-Total Correlation was used for the first reduction of items and then PCA with eigenvalues >1.5 was used for the reduction of the items loading lower than 0. 400 for each factor independently. Finally, Principal Axis Factoring with Varimax rotation led to 9 items for Machiavellianism (alpha coefficient=0.659), 8 items for Narcissism (alpha coefficient=0.659) and 10 items for Psychopathy (alpha coefficient=0.742). Strong correlations were found as expected between the 3 factors with lower between Machiavellianism and Narcissism r=.487 p=0.001 and higher between Psychopath and Narcissism r=.617 p=0.001.

The results of the current validation led to a 27 item, with 3 factors questionnaire with similar psychometric properties for non-clinical populations. Further validation is needed for clinical samples.

Personality Disorders (PDs) are psychiatric conditions involving maladaptive personality traits and behaviours. Previous research has shown that musical preferences and the use of music may be related to personality traits. Additionally, music therapy (MT) is increasingly being used as a treatment option for people with PDs.

This systematic review aimed to summarise the findings of the existing literature on music, MT, and PDs, and to identify any gaps in the existing literature.

Using the PRISMA guidelines, a systematic literature search was undertaken using three databases: PubMed, Web of Science, and PsycInfo.

A total of 24 studies were included in this review and summarised into four categories: music preference, MT, music performance, and music imagery, all in relation to PDs or traits associated with PDs. The analysis found that individuals with personality traits associated with PDs may prefer different types or genres of music or interact with music differently than those without these traits. Additionally, MT was found to offer a potentially useful treatment option for PDs.

The power of these findings was limited by the small number of included studies. This review offers a useful foundation upon which further research looking at MT as a potential treatment option for PDs can be built. As selected music has been reported to help to reduce violence and hostility, patients may develop playlists with the support of their therapists to manage aggression and violent impulses in foreseeably difficult situations; appropriate music for bedtime relaxation can be recommended to improve sleep length and quality; and people who experience insecurities may be encouraged to try music to aid cognitive problem solving and improve their mood.

The innermost relationship of the borderline concept and psychosis has been historically intertwined and can be traced back to the 20th century, but remarkably, to date, they have not been the focus of many empirical studies. Likewise, the contributions of empirical research on the DSM-5 dimensional approach to this topic are also uncommon.

In this study the framework of psychosis superspectrum were put closely in relation to both DSM-5 psychoticism/detachment domains, personality traits and psychopathological symptoms features in borderline personality disorder (PD).

A cross-sectional study of a borderline PD sample of 58 participants (Mage=39.76 years, SD=11.37; Mschooling=9 years), mainly male (58.5%). Self-reported assessment: PID-5; BSI; NEO-FFI. A multiple linear regression was computed.

In borderline PD, the PID-5 disinhibition (β=.51), BSI psychoticism (β=.43), BSI depression (β=-.24) and NEO neuroticism (β=.29) predicted psychosis superspectrum, explaining 94% of the variance. Also, stands out as a complement that, the BSI psychoticism was predicted by PID-5 detachment and PID-5 psychoticism, explaining 82% of the variance.

Evidence appears to be emerging for the underlying psychosis superspectrum trough borderline PD. There is a closer dialogue between the state-of-art view of a dimensional pathological personality-symptoms and the borderline pathology.
