Publication process after acceptance

Editing Process

Authors will be consulted during the editing stage about any editorial changes to their text including small standardizations; the author may reject a change they not agree with stylistically. Because of the constraints of publishing, authors will be given only a brief window of time (typically, two business days) to respond to editing changes.

Proofs

Authors will be given one set of proof pages prior to publication. Proof pages will incorporate textual revisions discussed between the editors and the author. Only essential typographical or factual errors may be changed at proof stage. Significant changes to typeset proofs require editorial team approval.

Copyright

Authors (or in some cases their employers) retain copyright and grant ASLME and Cambridge University Press a licence to publish their work in AJLM. On acceptance, the corresponding author will be asked to complete a Publishing Agreement form on behalf of all authors.

Author Copies

Authors will receive a link to an accessible version of their article online for their personal use and to distribute to their personal contacts, subject to the conditions of the Publishing Agreement form.

Publication Timetable

Accepted manuscripts are usually published within three months of acceptance. AJLM is published quarterly: Spring; Summer & Fall (double issue); and Winter. The journal goes to press in February, June, and November, respectively.
