Summary

The true estate of all manors, lands and tenements of the Right Honourable Edward earl of Oxford within the county of Cornwall demised by lease or by copy of court roll.

[Manor of Roseworthy, in Gwinear]

The manor of Roseworry lies in the west part of the shire within 6 miles of the mount called St Michaell, not above 16 miles from the uttermost part of this land in a place where the north sea and south sea are not distant above 8 miles; towns of any note for market or other repair or traffic are Helleston, 6 miles, Penzans, 8 miles, and St Jees [St Ives], 4 miles.

Tenant by indenture

[Roseworthy Mill, in Gwinear]:

Richard Crane the younger, William Crane and Catherine wife of Richard, by indenture of 12 April 6 Edw. VI [1552], 1 corn mill called Roseworry Mill and another mill called Roseworry blowing mill, for their lives; 8 acres; rent 53s. 4d.; heriot; fine £13 6s. 8d. Livery and seisin not delivered.

Tenants by copy of the manor court

Roseworry [Roseworthy, in Gwinear]:

David Angowgh alias John, by copy for term of his life only, 1 capital messuage; 51 acres; rent 34s.; fine 20s. [Copy of] 26 Hen. VIII [1534-5].

Nicola John, widow, for term of her life only, 1 tenement; 36 acres; rent 17s.; fine 17s. 9d. [Copy of] 26 Hen. VIII [1534-5]. David Angowgh, 1 tenement late of John Rawe, deceased; 39 acres; rent 26s. 10d. Tenement is in the lord's hands and David offers a fine of £40.

John James alias Pentevion, 1 fulling mill only, occupied a long season without copy; rent 6s. James offers a fine of 6s.

David Angowgh, by copy for term of his life only, another tenement; 33 acres; rent 23s. 9d.; fine 26s. 8d. [Copy of] 26 Hen. VIII [1534-5].

Penhale [Penhale, in Gwinear]:

John Hoskie, by copy, 1 tenement for term of life only; 15 acres; rent 16s.; fine 33s. 4d. [Copy of] 26 Hen. VIII [1534-5]. Hoskye would renew this copy.

John Drewe, 1 tenement late of [blank] Roydon, occupied a long time by assignment of Roydon; 25½ acres; rent 18s. 6d.; fine 20s.

Drewe offers a fine of £6 13s. 8d. Roydon has left his copy with Drue and has dwelt 7 years from the tenement.
