Summary
Lambertus van Velthuysen was an important precursor and critic of Spinoza. He was also a governor of the Dutch East India Company, a physician (trained by Henricus Regius), a Walloon minister, a theologian, an alderman of Utrecht, and the commissioner representing the political authorities to the Utrecht consistory.
