Summary

Spinoza’s life and work are intimately connected to those of Lodewijk Meyer (Louis Meijer). Meyer and Spinoza shared an important philosophical correspondence (Ep12, Ep12a, Ep15), Meyer prepared the Preface for Spinoza’s DPP, he was among Spinoza’s friends who prepared the OP, and, according to most biographies of Spinoza, Meyer was the physician alone with him at his death.
