Given a Borel probability measure µ on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and a real matrix $R\in M_n(\mathbb{R})$. We call R a spectral eigenmatrix of the measure µ if there exists a countable set $\Lambda\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ such that the sets $E_\Lambda=\big\{{\rm e}^{2\pi i \langle\lambda,x\rangle}:\lambda\in \Lambda\big\}$ and $E_{R\Lambda}=\big\{{\rm e}^{2\pi i \langle R\lambda,x\rangle}:\lambda\in \Lambda\big\}$ are both orthonormal bases for the Hilbert space $L^2(\mu)$. In this paper, we study the structure of spectral eigenmatrix of the planar self-affine measure $\mu_{M,D}$ generated by an expanding integer matrix $M\in M_2(2\mathbb{Z})$ and the four-elements digit set $D = \{(0,0)^t,(1,0)^t,(0,1)^t,(-1,-1)^t\}$. Some sufficient and/or necessary conditions for R to be a spectral eigenmatrix of $\mu_{M,D}$ are given.

We study the $L^{q}$ -spectrum of measures in the plane generated by certain nonlinear maps. In particular, we consider attractors of iterated function systems consisting of maps whose components are $C^{1+\alpha }$ and for which the Jacobian is a lower triangular matrix at every point subject to a natural domination condition on the entries. We calculate the $L^{q}$ -spectrum of Bernoulli measures supported on such sets by using an appropriately defined analogue of the singular value function and an appropriate pressure function.

Let μ λ be the Bernoulli convolution associated with λ ∈ (0, 1). The well-known result of Jorgensen and Pedersen shows that if λ = 1/(2k) for some k ∈ ℕ, then μ 1/(2k) is a spectral measure with spectrum Γ(1/(2k)). The recent research on the spectrality of μ λ shows that μ λ is a spectral measure only if λ = 1/(2k) for some k ∈ ℕ. Moreover, for certain odd integer p, the multiple set pΓ(1/(2k)) is also a spectrum for μ 1/(2k). This is surprising because some spectra for the measure μ 1/(2k) are thinning. In this paper we mainly characterize the number p that has the above property. By applying the properties of congruences and the order of elements in the finite group, we obtain several conditions on p such that pΓ(1/(2k)) is a spectrum for μ 1/(2k).

The self-affine measure μM, D corresponding to M = diag[p1, p2, p3] (pj ∈ ℤ \ {0, ± 1}, j = 1, 2, 3) and D = {0, e1, e2, e3} in the space ℝ3 is supported on the three-dimensional Sierpinski gasket T(M, D), where e1, e2, e3 are the standard basis of unit column vectors in ℝ3. We shall determine the spectrality and non-spectrality of μM, D, and show that if pj ∈ 2ℤ \ {0, 2} for j = 1, 2, 3, then μM, D is a spectral measure, and if pj ∈ (2ℤ + 1) \ {±1} for j = 1, 2, 3, then μM, D is a non-spectral measure and there exist at most 4 mutually orthogonal exponential functions in L2(μM, D), where the number 4 is the best possible. This generalizes the known results on the spectrality of self-affine measures.
