The aim of this article is to study the Bloch–Kato exponential map and the Perrin-Riou big exponential map purely in terms of $(\varphi , \Gamma )$-modules over the Robba ring. We first generalize the definition of the Bloch–Kato exponential map for all the $(\varphi , \Gamma )$-modules without using Fontaine’s rings ${\mathbf{B} }_{\mathrm{crys} } $, ${\mathbf{B} }_{\mathrm{dR} } $ of $p$-adic periods, and then generalize the construction of the Perrin-Riou big exponential map for all the de Rham $(\varphi , \Gamma )$-modules and prove that this map interpolates our Bloch–Kato exponential map and the dual exponential map. Finally, we prove a theorem concerning the determinant of our big exponential map, which is a generalization of theorem $\delta (V)$ of Perrin-Riou. The key ingredients for our study are Pottharst’s theory of the analytic Iwasawa cohomology and Berger’s construction of $p$-adic differential equations associated to de Rham $(\varphi , \Gamma )$-modules.

We consider stacks of filtered $\varphi $-modules over rigid analytic spaces and adic spaces. We show that these modules parameterize $p$-adic Galois representations of the absolute Galois group of a $p$-adic field with varying coefficients over an open substack containing all classical points. Further, we study a period morphism (defined by Pappas and Rapoport) from a stack parameterizing integral data, and determine the image of this morphism.

We prove new automorphy lifting theorems for essentially conjugate self-dual Galois representations into GLn. Existing theorems require that the residual representation have ‘big’ image, in a certain technical sense. Our theorems are based on a strengthening of the Taylor–Wiles method which allows one to weaken this hypothesis.

We prove the modularity of minimally ramified ordinary residually reducible p-adic Galois representations of an imaginary quadratic field F under certain assumptions. We first exhibit conditions under which the residual representation is unique up to isomorphism. Then we prove the existence of deformations arising from cuspforms on GL2(AF) via the Galois representations constructed by Taylor et al. We establish a sufficient condition (in terms of the non-existence of certain field extensions which in many cases can be reduced to a condition on an L-value) for the universal deformation ring to be a discrete valuation ring and in that case we prove an R=T theorem. We also study reducible deformations and show that no minimal characteristic 0 reducible deformation exists.

We associate two almost Cp-representations to a (ϕ,Γ)-module, and we compute their dimensions and heights. As a corollary, we get a full faithfulness result for Be-representations.

Par une méthode entièrement nouvelle utilisant les déformations $p$-adiques de pentes positives de représentations automorphes pour $\mathrm{GSp}_{4/\mathbb{Q}}$, nous prouvons que le $p$-groupe de Selmer $H^1_f(\mathbb{Q},V_f(k))$ associé à une forme modulaire $f$ de poids $2k$ et ordinaire en $p$ est infini si l’ordre d’annulation à l’entier $k$ de la fonction $L$ de $f$ est impair.

By an entirely new method that makes use of $p$-adic deformations of automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GSp}_{4/\mathbb{Q}}$, we prove that the $p$-adic Selmer group $H^1_f(\mathbb{Q},V_f(k))$ associated to a modular form $f$ of weight $2k$ that is ordinary at $p$ is infinite if the order of vanishing at $k$ of the $L$-function of $f$ is odd.
