Herbicide experiments conducted on flowering size gladiolus corms over a four year period have shown that 2-chloro-4,6-bis(ethylamino)-s-triazine (simazine) at 1 lb/A pre-emergence and 1 lb/A at lay-by; ethyl N,N-di-n-propylthiolcarbamate (EPTC), 6 lb/A preemergence and 6 lb/A at lay-by; or 3(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea (diuron) either 1 lb/A preemergence and 1 lb/A at lay-by or 2 lb/A at lay-by appear to be safe and effective herbicides for weed control on varieties Spic & Span, Valeria, Hopman's Glory, Spotlight, Elizabeth the Queen, Friendship, and White Excelsior.
