Papers should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system:
https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/trhs
All typescripts should be in Microsoft Word format or an RTF equivalent, double spaced, leaving a reasonable margin on all sides of the text.
Each figure should be provided as a separate numbered file. Tables may be submitted as XLS files. Figures should be provided in file formats conforming to the artwork guidelines outlined below.
In addition to the main text, each article submission should include:
o an abstract of not more than 250 words.
o a title that should not ideally exceed 20 words.
o five to ten keywords.
o figure and table captions and place markers, positioned appropriately within the body text and indicating whether they should appear as portrait or landscape.
A separate cover sheet should be provided which should include contact details for the corresponding author, including email, postal address and telephone number. Please also provide the academic affiliations of all authors. Any author acknowledgements, whether personal or in reference to funding, should also be included here.
Submission of an article to Transactions is taken to imply that it is the original, entirely unpublished work of the author(s) and is not under review for publication elsewhere in any form.
Initial submissions should be presented to a high scholarly standard. On acceptance, authors will be asked to bring their piece into line with the journal's conventions, details of which can be found in the Preparing your materials section.
Appeals
Appeals of editorial decisions will only be considered if they refer to a specific manuscript and must be based on evidence that either (1) an editor or reviewer made a significant factual error/a major misunderstanding of a manuscript, or (2) the integrity of the editorial decision making process was compromised. In general, only one appeal per manuscript per decision stage will be considered. For further information on how to appeal, please refer to the RHS Complaints and Appeals Procedure.
Licence to publish
Before Cambridge can publish your manuscript, we need a signed licence to publish agreement. Under the agreement, certain rights are granted to the journal owner which allow publication of the article. The original ownership of the copyright in the article remains unchanged. For full details see the publishing agreement page.
