Names are given under the first letter of the first word; for example the name Van de Hulst will be found under V.
The names of the countries are given in their English form.
Names of astronomers using the Cyrillic alphabet in their own country (U.S.S.R.) are given with the new transliteration rules adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (I.S.O.) (see, in this volume, page 113). In all cases, the previously used transliteration follows the new one, in brackets; appropriate cross-referencing has been attempted. Example: Yakhontova [see Jahontova] is found under Y, while JAHONTOVA (and the address) is found under J. In other sections of the Transactions, either spelling may appear. Note that Č, Š, Ž follow C, S, Z in the alphabetical list.
Please inform the Assistant Secretary of the I.A.U., Observatoire de Nice, Le Mont-Gros, 06-Nice, France, of any errors you may find in this list. The list has been corrected to May 1966.
Les noms figurent à la première lettre du premier mot; par exemple, le nom ‘Van de Hulst’ se trouve à la lettre V.
