ELRR is delighted to announce the inauguration of a Nevile-Plowman Best Article Prize. Valued at AUD500 annually, it will be awarded each year for the best article published in the previous year’s Economic and Labour Relations Review.
The prize is named for ELRR’s founding editors. John Nevile AM (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/1035304613482073) is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at UNSW and from 2020 will take up the role of ELRR Patron. The late David Plowman AM (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1035304614523883) was a Professor and Emeritus Professor in Industrial Relations at UNSW and then at the University of Western Australia until his untimely death in December 2013.
Eligibility

1. The article will have a preceding year publication date (e.g. the 2020 prize will be awarded for an article published in print Volume 30, Issues 1–4 and/or in Online First during 2019).

2. The article may be in one or both of the fields of economics and/or labour relations.
Criteria

1. The article offers an original approach to an economic or work-related issue.

2. It demonstrates high standards of research or scholarship.

3. It is clear, accessible and convincing.

4. (a) It provides a conceptual framework that other scholars may usefully apply or
(b) It is likely to have a to having a demonstrably beneficial policy or social impact.
