Sea-level rise is accelerating globally. Small island states are particularly affected by sea-level rise, as are other coastal states. In light of this situation, important legal questions arise in relation to the law of the sea.
This panel was convened at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2020, by its moderator Patrícia Galvão Teles of the Autonomous University of Lisbon, who introduced the panelists: Rüdiger Wolfrum of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law; Alfred Soons of Utrecht University; and Nilüfer Oral of the Centre for International Law, NUS Singapore.
