Prehospital and Disaster Medicine (PDM) is a peer-reviewed health and medical journal that has been published for more than thirty-seven years. PDM is sponsored by, and the official publication of, the World Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM). The primary mission of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine (PDM) is to publish innovative, high-impact, evidence-based research in prehospital and Disaster Medicine.
The mission statement was updated as of January 1, 2025. Authors should ensure that their submission aligns with the updated PDM mission statement. PDM provides an international forum for the reporting and discussion of scientific studies, both quantitative and qualitative. It maintains a global perspective in the publication of disaster health and emergency medical information. Authors from all areas of the world are invited to publish in PDM.
To assure the highest standards in publication of scientific content, PDM supports and follows international standards for peer review of all material that may be used as an authoritative citation or reference. It is a signatory with the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
