The Journal of International and Comparative Social Policy is now coming to the end of its third year under the ownership of the UK Social Policy Association and publication by Cambridge University Press. From January 2023 a new Editorial team will take over from the founding co-editors Kevin Farnswoth and Zoë Irving who have led the journal's development since its launch in 2013.
JICSP uniquely focuses on all dimensions of comparative and international social policy. It has become established as a leading journal in the field, publishing path-breaking articles by leading scholars contributing new theoretical, empirical and methodological insights and knowledge. The journal welcomes papers that are comparative and/or international in scope including those that focus on national, world regional or global social policies. Country case studies that locate national welfare systems within a comparative or international context are also welcome. Articles may deal with policy processes as well as welfare outcomes and cover the full range of the 'welfare mix' within social policy.
Between its launch in 2013 and the final issue of 2022, over 290 scholars across all global regions will have published in the journal, including in regular special issues and themed sections. To support the journal and its new editors in their future work, all colleagues active in the fields of international and comparative social policy are invited to consider submission of research focused manuscripts and review articles, as well as ideas for Themed Sections and Special Issues.
At a time when international connection has never been more important, the outgoing Editors, Kevin Farnsworth and Zoë Irving would like to extend their warmest gratitude and thanks to past and present members of the Editorial Board, all those who have published with the journal and all those who have given their time to undertake manuscript reviews.
