Introduzione

Che cosa possono sperare di imparare gli studiosi della politica dando maggiore attenzione alla teoria dell'organizzazione? In questo dopoguerra questa domanda ha ricevuto il più delle volte una risposta pessimistica. Gli scienziati politici non hanno mostrato una tendenza a considerare la teoria dell'organizzazione particolarmente rilevante, interessante o importante. Nonostante ci sia stato qualche significativo esempio di fertilizzazione incrociata, la maggior parte degli osservatori concluse che teoria dell'organizzazione e scienza politica si sono trovate per anni in uno stato di reciproco disinteresse.
