Resumen

Los servicios psiquiátricos que proporcionan asistencia a los pacientes y sus familias enfrentados a un primer episodio psicótico tienen que ser sensibles a las preferencias de los pacientes y las familias. Diez pacientes, diez familiares y diez cuidadores profesionales compusieron una lista de 42 preferencias en el tratamiento para un primer episodio psicótico. Noventa y nueve pacientes, 100 familiares y 263 cuidadores profesionales en total evaluaron estas preferencias, produciendo así un orden de prioridades. Parece haber considerable acuerdo entre los grupos de respondientes con respecto a sus diez mayores prioridades, que se refieren especialmente a la información sobre el diagnostico y la medicación. Sin embargo, encontramos diferencias importantes entre los grupos de respondientes. Los resultados indican que se debe prestar gran atención en los servicios psiquiatricos a la psicoeducación y la interventión ambulatoria temprana.
