Historically, patients with multiple acts of aggression, or chronic aggressors, have been studied as one large group. It was our objective to subdivide this group into those patients who engage in physical aggression consistently over multiple years and see if common characteristics of chronic aggressors could classify patients into an aggressive or nonaggressive group.

Within a forensic hospital system, patients who had committed 5 acts of physical aggression, per year, for 3 years (2010 and 2015) were reviewed. Data was collected on clinical and demographic characteristics that have shown to be associated with chronically aggressive patients and compared to nonaggressive matched controls. Data collection and analysis were completed to determine if the variables could classify patients into an aggressive or nonaggressive group.

Analysis showed that 2 variables, the presence of a cognitive disorder and a history of suicidal behaviors were significant in the univariate and multivariate analyses. The 2 variables were able to correctly classify 76.7% of the cases.

A cognitive disorder, a history of suicidal behavior, and increased age were factors associated with this subgroup of aggressive patients. Clinicians may want to explore treatment programs aimed at these clinical factors including cognitive rehabilitation and social cognition treatments, which have been shown to reduce aggression in cognitively impaired populations.

Advertising plays a crucial role in modern commercial society as a means of information transmission. It not only affects consumers’ purchasing decisions but may also have a particular impact on their mental health. This study explores in depth how innovative advertising design strategies affect consumer psychology, focusing on their potential impact on patients with borderline personality disorders.

The experiment used three methods: questionnaire survey, psychological experiment, and in-depth interview to select 800 consumers, including 100 diagnosed borderline personality disorder patients, for a 6-month observation experiment. The Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) self-test was used to evaluate the patient’s status. The experimental data was statistically analyzed using SPSS 26.0.

Research shows that innovative advertising design strategies can significantly enhance consumers’ interest and willingness to purchase products, with 80% of respondents indicating an impulse to purchase after being influenced by such advertisements. However, for 60% of patients with borderline personality disorder, such advertisements may trigger impulsive purchases and emotional instability, and patients report feeling more anxious and unstable.

Innovative advertising design strategies significantly impact consumer psychology, promoting their willingness to purchase. Still, they may also have adverse psychological effects on specific groups, especially patients with borderline personality disorders.

This is a case report highlighting the side effect of suicidal ideation with lemborexant, a novel agent approved for the treatment of insomnia. A 22-year-old man received care at an outpatient psychiatrist for the treatment of major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, and insomnia. The patient also has a diagnosis of Loeys-Dietz syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. Following numerous medication trials for both depression and insomnia that resulted in partial remission of mood symptoms without improvement in sleep, he was initiated on lemborexant to address insomnia. He was noted to be denying suicidal ideation at the appointment when lemborexant was prescribed. The patient did not take lemborexant until three days after the appointment, at which time he took the recommended dose of 5 mg at bedtime for insomnia. The patient experienced drowsiness immediately following taking this dose; however, he woke up two hours later with new-onset suicidal ideation. The patient was brought to the hospital for this complaint, and the following evening had attempted suicide by hanging in his hospital room. Laboratory investigations showed normal findings in blood chemistries, complete blood count, thyroid stimulating hormone, vitamin B12 level, vitamin D level, and urine illicit drug screening. Differential diagnosis includes acute reaction to insomnia, medication-induced side effect, and major depressive disorder. He had completed trials for insomnia with zolpidem, hydroxyzine, quetiapine, nortriptyline, and trazodone prior to beginning lemborexant. The patient had no history of suicide attempts in the past, but did experience suicidal ideation following a trial of nortriptyline. In the hospital, the lemborexant was discontinued, and clonidine and clonazepam were initiated at bedtime to address insomnia and ruminative thoughts. The patient was discharged with follow-up at his outpatient psychiatrist after his suicidal ideation was in remission, as well as noted improvement in insomnia. This case highlights new-onset suicidal ideation with subsequent suicide attempt after first use of lemborexant in a patient with major depressive disorder. This case is important given lemborexant is a new medication with limited information about its efficacy and safety in major psychiatric disorders.

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted mental health across different groups, including healthcare workers (HWs). To date, few studies focused on potential positive aspects that may follow the exposure to the pandemic. We investigated the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in Italian HWs and whether posttraumatic growth (PTG) dimensions affected the risk of suicidal ideation (SI) during the first COVID-19 wave.

An online self-report survey was conducted between April and May 2020. Sociodemographic data, information about COVID-19-related stressful events, Impact of the Event Scale-revised, and Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory-Short Form (PTGI-SF) scores were collected and compared between participants. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 scores were also collected to assess SI through item 9. Multivariate logistic regression was used to assess the relationship between PTGI and SI.

Among 948 HWs, 257 (27.0%) reported a provisional PTSD diagnosis. The median PTGI-SF score was 24. Participants reporting PTSD symptoms had higher scores in the Spiritual change, Appreciation of life, and New possibilities domains, and in the total PTG scale. A total of 100 HWs (10.8%) screened positive for SI. Improvements in Relating to others domain of PTGI-SF (odds ratioOR: .46; 95% confidence interval: .25–.85) were associated with lower odds of SI.

COVID-19 pandemic has been indicated as a risk factor for SI, also among HWs. PTG may have a protective role on suicide risk. Improvements in Relating to others domain reduced odds of SI, consistently with the role of loneliness and lack of connectedness with others in enhancing suicidal risk.

Lamotrigine is an antiepileptic drug of the phenyltriazine class with inhibitory effects on voltage-sensitive sodium channels, leading to an inhibition in the release of glutamate and resulting in a general inhibitory effect on cortical neuronal function. Lamotrigine is also a weak dihydrofolate reductase inhibitor. The drug is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for maintenance treatment of bipolar type I disorder in adults. There have been reports of hematologic adverse effects with lamotrigine therapy. This case report describes a 16-year-old female who developed profound anemia while on lamotrigine therapy.

Ms. X was a 16-year-old African-American female with sickle cell trait and mood disorder referred by the Division of Youth Services (DYS). Her medication regimen included lamotrigine 200 mg in the morning, aripiprazole 5 mg in the morning, and mixed amphetamine salts extended-release 30 mg in the morning. While at DYS, she developed fatigue and headaches with exertion. Her blood work detected a very low hemoglobin level of 3.1 g/dL and a very low hematocrit of 10.9%. Her MCV, MCH, and MCHC were within the normal range. The remainder of her blood count and other labs were within normal limits. The patient’s blood pressure was 105/70 mm Hg and her pulse was 109. The patient was sent to the local emergency room immediately; upon hospital admission, she received 4 units of packed red blood cells via transfusion.

After a blood transfusion, the patient’s hemoglobin level improved to 9.7 g/dL. The patient’s symptoms had improved significantly; her headaches and fatigue with exertion were gone. It was suspected that her profound anemia was induced by lamotrigine. She was discharged from the hospital with instructions to stop lamotrigine and visit a hematology specialist. Several weeks later, she underwent a hematologic evaluation, including a bone marrow biopsy and genetic testing, which were unremarkable. Her hemoglobin level remained stable.

The patient’s anemia resolved after the discontinuation of lamotrigine. The patient was followed for 1 year with blood work performed every few months. Her hemoglobin level did not drop further and in fact slowly increased to 13.9 g/dL spontaneously over the next year. In the literature, there have been reports of blood dyscrasias that may or may not be associated with hypersensitivity syndrome in patients who take lamotrigine. Considering hematologic adverse effects, it may be prudent to consider a baseline blood count before starting lamotrigine and repeat this test 3 to 6 months after initiation. It remains unclear whether lamotrigine use with a background of sickle cell trait in this patient put her at an increased risk of profound anemia. Further studies are required to explore the effects of this commonly used medicine.

In a phase 3 trial of children with ADHD, DR/ER-MPH (formerly HLD200), a delayed-release and extended-release methylphenidate, improved ADHD symptoms and reduced at-home early morning and late afternoon/evening functional impairments versus placebo, as measured by the validated Parent Rating of Evening andMorning Behaviors-Revised, Morning (PREMB-R AM) and Evening (PREMB-R PM) subscales. This post hoc analysis evaluated the effect of DR/ER-MPH versus placebo onindividual PREMB-R AM/PM item scores.

Data were analyzed from a pivotal, randomized, double-blind, multicenter, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, phase 3 trial of DR/ER-MPH in children (6-12 years) withADHD (NCT02520388). Using the 3-item PREMB-R AM and 8-item PREMB-R PM, both key secondary endpoints, investigators evaluated early morning and lateafternoon/evening functional impairment by scoring each item on a severity scale from 0 (none) to 3 (a lot). For post hoc analyses, treatment comparisons between DR/ER-MPH and placebo at endpoint were determined by using least squares mean changes from baseline on individual PREMB-R AM/PM items score derived from an analysis ofcovariance (ANCOVA) model with treatment as the main effect, and study center and baseline score as covariates.

Of 163 children enrolled across 22 sites, 161 were included in the intent-to-treat population (DR/ER-MPH, n=81; placebo, n=80) and 138 completed the study. The mean DR/ER-MPH dose achieved after 3 weeks of treatment was 68.1 mg. Following 3 weeks of treatment, DR/ER-MPH significantly reduced mean individual item scores from baseline versus placebo on all PREMB-R AM items (all P≤0.002; “getting out of bed”, “getting ready”, and “arguing or struggling in the morning”). Additionally, DR/ER-MPH significantly reduced mean individual item scores from baseline on 5 out of 8 PREMB-R PM items (P<0.01 in 2 items [“sitting through dinner” and “playing quietly”] and P<0.05 in 3 items [“inattentive/distractible”, “transitioning between activities”, and “settling down/getting ready for bed”]). There was a trend towards a reduction on 2 other items of the PREMB-R PM (P<0.09). Distributions of the ratings for each item will be presented. No serious TEAEs were reported; TEAEs were consistent withmethylphenidate.

Post hoc analyses revealed that DR/ER-MPH significantly reduced all PREMB-R AM item scores, including “getting out of bed”, and many PREMB-R PM items, including “getting ready for bed” in children with ADHD. These findings are worth further exploration.

Use of heroin in self-management of Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) has not heretofore been described. Such a case is presented.

Case study: This 29 years old right handed male presented with a long history of major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and opioid dependence. The Patient felt compelled to take quetiapine since was the only drug found to be effective in controlling racing thoughts, Major Depressive Disorder with psychotic features. Prior to use of quetiapine the patient never experienced RLS. Quetiapine in doses ranging from 25mg to 300mg a day precipitated severe RLS whereby he was forced to move his leg all night long leading to poor sleep quality. The RLS was unresponsive to Gabapentin and Benztropine, however it was eliminated with a variety of opioids including hydrocodone, buprenorphine, buprenorphine/naloxone. Particularly sensitive to heroin, 1/2 twenty dollar bag, self-administered IV prior to sleep eliminated the RLS immediately, but when injected more than four hours before sleep it had no effect. RLS acted only when induced with quetiapine, since he wished to continue quetiapine to control his mood, he felt compelled to self-medicate with heroin to stop RLS side effects. He showed no other signs of extrapyramidal symptomatology or evidence of any other movement disorder.

Abnormalities in physical examination: General: Abundance of tattoos on body and face. Cranial Nerve (CN): CN I: Alcohol Sniff Test: 7cm (anosmia). CN II: Anisocoria OD 5mm OS 2mm. Motor Examination: drift testing: right pronator drift. Cerebellar: Finger to Nose: end point dysmetria bilaterally. Low amplitude high frequency tremor in both upper extremities on extension. Sensory Examination: decreased graphesthesia in both upper extremities. Reflexes: 3+ knee jerks, absent ankle jerks, positive jaw jerk, bilateral palmomental reflex is present.

This patient has a long history of quetiapine use due to his major depressive disorder with psychotic features and subsequent self-administration of IV heroin reportedly to reduce the symptoms of quetiapine-induced RLS. Heroin elevates dopamine levels in forebrain by blocking inhibitory GABA interneurons near the ventral tegmental area, leading to activation of mesocorticolimbic dopaminergic neurons (Nakagawa 2008, Steidl 2011). The time frame of opioid administration has a critical impact on its efficacy in improving RLS symptoms. However, the drug’s effects only up to 3 to 6hours (Buchfuhrer 2012). In this case administration of heroin more than 4hours before sleep would not alleviate the RLS symptoms. Patient chose the time of injection, not for hedonic pleasure of heroin, but rather to prevent RLS symptoms. In those with heroin dependence, the possibility that is a result of self-medication of underlying movement disorder warrants additional investigation. In those with RLS who are unresponsive to other treatment modalities, a trial of opioids maybe worthwhile.

Understand the mechanism and pharmacokinetics involved in an unintentional overdose of injectableantipsychotic medication; identify how to transition between long acting injectable antipsychotics; formulate steps to ensure patient safety in an event of an unintentional overdose of injectable antipsychotic

Review of a case study involving a 47-year-old male, with history of schizoaffective disorder and previous episodes of loss of consciousness of unknown etiology, who was admitted to the inpatient psychiatry unit at UConn Health John Dempsey Hospital for stabilization of psychotic symptoms and monitoring of unintentional overdose after initially being admitted to the ICU. He was found unconscious at home following a period of days where he self-injected four of 37.5mg Risperidone injections (estimated 150mg) along with limited adherence to prescribed oral clozapine, doxepin and lorazepam. He reported self-injecting additional medication to treat paranoia, auditory, visual and olfactory hallucinations. In the ICU, he was evaluated by Toxicology and Neurology for loss of consciousness thought to be from seizures, with no clear outcome. He was awake and alert within 24 hours of medical admission but became agitated, hostile, and psychotic prompting psychiatric admission. When his worsening paranoia had resulted in termination of his visiting nurse services that administered injections and in home assessments, his outpatient psychiatrist allowed him to self-administer bi-monthly injections. Over three weeks in the hospital, he was evaluated for signs and symptoms of antipsychotic overdose.

Initial literature review did not reveal information involving an overdose of injectable Risperidone. Thus, the time frame and symptoms to monitor were uncertain. As the injectable medication was expected to peak in 2-3 weeks and persist for 4-6 weeks, there was a concern about delayed potential side effects such as EPS, sedation, QTC prolongation and electrolytes imbalances. He was treated with oral antipsychotic medication. Clozapine and doxepin were discontinued due to patient non-adherence, side effects, and drug interactions. He exhibited signs of EPS and was started on benztropine. To simplify his regimen, he was switched to another long acting injectable, Paliperidone Palmitate, prior to his discharge.

Given the nature of the presentation, he was advised not to self-administer injectable medication and was referred for visiting nurse services. He was educated on the potential side effects of injectable antipsychotic medication. As there was a change in antipsychotic medications, follow up was recommended in an intensive outpatient program for psychotic symptoms and prolonged side effects. Due to the patient’s concordant episode of loss of consciousness, he was advised to follow up with an outpatient long term EEG monitoring and complete Neurology evaluation.

MIND-TD is a collaboration of healthcare professionals (HCPs) who are committed to raising awareness of tardive dyskinesia (TD), a persistent and potentially disabling movement disorder associated with prolonged exposure to antipsychotics and other dopamine receptor blocking agents. The MIND-TD questionnaire was developed to help HCPs screen for TD and facilitate discussion with patients.

In August 2020, an expert panel of 13 HCPs (4 psychiatrists, 6 neurologists/movement disorder specialists [MDSs], and 3 advanced practice providers [APPs]) met virtually to discuss potential screening questions for TD. This work was continued by 4 panelists (1 psychiatrist, 2 neurologists/MDSs, and 1 APP) who tested the questions in clinical practice for revision and refinement. The same group also worked with the sponsor to develop 2 additional sections that could be used to elicit more information from patients. The panel recognized the need for a tool that could facilitate telehealth screening for TD, including audio-only interactions. Therefore, practices from speech-language pathologists (eg, diadochokinetics) were used to refine the questionnaire.

Part 1 of the MIND-TD questionnaire includes a yes-or-no question for each of the 4 following topics: presence of extra or unwanted movements (Movement); feelings of embarrassment or self-consciousness (Impact); if anyone else has noticed the movements (Notice); and if movements interfere with everyday routines (Daily Activities). Part 1 can be administered by any trained medical staff, either in person or via telehealth (with video or audio-only). Routine administration is suggested in all patients who meet any of the following criteria: current or prior use of any first- or second-generation antipsychotic; use of an anticholinergic medication in conjunction with a current or past antipsychotic; or current diagnosis of TD. Part 2 of the MIND-TD questionnaire has 2 sections. The first (Thorough Interview) includes 9 items related to physical/functional difficulties (eg, eating, speaking, walking, and gripping objects) and 3 simple instructions for speech difficulties. The second section (Differentiate) includes checklists of characteristic movements for TD and drug-induced parkinsonism, along with an item related to akathisia and suggestions for observing abnormal or involuntary movements. Part 2 should be administered by the treating HCP in patients who have abnormal movements that may be related to TD. Part 2 requires visual observation of the patient, whether in-person or via video.

MIND-TD is a screening questionnaire that can facilitate a dialogue between HCPs and patients about the risks, symptoms, and impact of TD. The MIND questions can stand alone and be administered during in-person visits or telehealth visits (video or audio-only). The TD section can be used to gather more information about a patient’s abnormal movements.

In VIVRE (NCT04448431), vortioxetine was associated with significantly higher rates of symptomatic and functional remission, better daily and social functioning, and greater treatment satisfaction than desvenlafaxine in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and partial response to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) therapy. This analysis further explored the relative improvement in patient functioning with vortioxetine versus desvenlafaxine.

VIVRE was a randomized, double-blind study of vortioxetine (10 or 20 mg/day) versus desvenlafaxine (50 mg/day) in adults with MDD and partial response to initial SSRI monotherapy. Mean percentage changes from baseline to week 8 in Functioning Assessment Short Test (FAST) total and domain scores were analyzed by treatment group in the overall population and in working patients.

In the overall population, the mean reduction in FAST total score from baseline after 8 weeks of treatment was 37.2% in vortioxetine-treated patients versus 31.8% in desvenlafaxine-treated patients (P = 0.04). Significantly greater improvements versus desvenlafaxine were seen in vortioxetine-treated patients for FAST autonomy, cognitive functioning, and interpersonal-relationships scores (all P < 0.05). In working patients, the mean reduction in FAST total score from baseline at week 8 was 38.7% versus 32.1% in the vortioxetine and desvenlafaxine groups, respectively (P = 0.04). Significant correlations were seen between absolute changes in patient functioning, and those in depression severity and health-related quality of life.

Vortioxetine was significantly better than desvenlafaxine in improving overall functioning as well as daily, social, and cognitive functioning in patients with MDD with inadequate response to prior SSRI therapy.

Almost all depression measures have been developed without discussing how to best conceptualize and assess the severity of depression. It is therefore not surprising that measures differ in both how items are rated and item content. The question that we address in the present report from the Rhode Island Methods to Improve Diagnostic Assessment and Services (MIDAS) project is whether a measure of depression severity should include symptoms that are frequent in depressed patients but are defining features of other disorders (eg, anxiety, irritability)

Patients were evaluated with a semi-structured interview and severity ratings were made of each symptom of major depressive disorder (MDD) as well as anxiety, irritability, and somatization. Patients were also rated on the Clinical Global Index of severity (CGI).

Three of the 5 nondepressive symptoms (psychic anxiety, somatic anxiety, and subjective anger) were significantly correlated with the CGI. The correlation between the sum of all 5 nondepressive symptoms and the CGI was significantly lower than the correlation between the sum of the depressive symptom severity ratings (0.12 vs 0.52, z = 11.0, p < .001). The partial correlation between the CGI and the nondepressive symptom severity ratings (after controlling for the total depressive symptom ratings) was nonsignificant.

After accounting for the severity of depressive symptoms, the severity of the nondepressive symptoms was not associated with global ratings of depressive severity. These findings raise questions regarding the appropriateness of including ratings of anxiety, irritability, and somatization on a measure that purportedly assesses the severity of depression.

Prior research suggests that religiosity may be associated with healthier levels of mental health in certain domains (eg, higher self-esteem and lower rates of substance use problems). However, very little is known about religiosity and impulsive plus compulsive tendencies. This study examined associations between religiosity and impulsive and compulsive behaviors and traits among university students.

Nine thousand, four hundred and forty-nine students received a 156-item anonymous online survey which assessed religiosity, alcohol and drug use, mental health issues, and impulsive and compulsive traits. Two groups of interest were defined: those with high religiosity, and those with low religiosity, based on z-scores. The two groups were compared on the measures of interest.

Three thousand, five hundred and seventy-two university students (57.1% female) responded to the survey. Those with high levels of organizational religious activity, as well as those with high levels of intrinsic or subjective religiosity, differed from their fellow students in having better self-esteem, being less likely to have alcohol or drug problems, and generally being less impulsive in terms of attention and planning. Compulsivity did not differ between groups. Associations were of small effect size except for the link between religiosity and lower impulsivity, which was of medium effect size.

This study shows a link between higher religiosity and lower impulsivity, as well as higher levels of mental health across several domains. Whether these associations are causal—and if so, the direction of such causality—requires rigorous longitudinal research.

Buprenorphine/samidorphan (BUP/SAM), a combination of BUP (a µ-opioid receptor partial agonist and κ-antagonist) and SAM (a sublingually bioavailable µ-opioid antagonist), is an investigational opioid system modulator for depression. BUP/SAM has shown efficacy versus placebo as an adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD) and a consistent safety profile in previously reported, placebo-controlled clinical studies.1,2

FORWARD-2 (Clinicaltrials.gov ID: NCT02141399) enrolled patients who had participated in 1 of 4 controlled studies as well as de novo patients. All patients had a confirmed diagnosis of MDD, had a history of inadequate response to standard antidepressant therapies (ADTs), and had been treated with an adequate dose of an established ADT for ≥8weeks before BUP/SAM initiation. ADT dosage could be titrated, but the ADT could not be changed. During the study, patients received open-label, sublingual BUP/SAM 2mg/2mg as adjunctive treatment for up to 52weeks. Safety (primary objective) was assessed via adverse events (AEs), vital signs, laboratory analytes, and electrocardiography. Suicidal ideation or behavior (SIB) was evaluated by the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale. Abuse potential, dependence, and withdrawal were assessed by AEs and the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale. Exploratory efficacy endpoints included mean Montgomery–Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) scores and remission rate (MADRS ≤10).

Of 1454 total patients, 49% completed the 52-week study, 11% discontinued due to an AE, and 40% discontinued because of other reasons as of the interim data cutoff date (April 30, 2017). Most AEs were of mild/moderate severity. Serious AEs were reported in 3.2% of patients. AEs occurring in ≥10% of patients were nausea, headache, constipation, dizziness, and somnolence. There was no evidence of increased risk of SIB with BUP/SAM. Incidence of euphoria-related events was low (1.2%). After abrupt discontinuation of BUP/SAM, there was little evidence of withdrawal. BUP/SAM was not associated with meaningful changes in laboratory or metabolic parameters or in bodyweight. The mean MADRS score decreased from 22.9 (±9.7) at baseline to 9.8 (±8.8) after 52weeks. The remission rate at 52weeks was 52.5%.

Long-term treatment with BUP/SAM did not reveal any new safety findings and confirmed that the risk of abuse and dependence with BUP/SAM was low. BUP/SAM maintained an antidepressant effect for up to 52weeks of treatment in patients with MDD.

Psychological anxiety is an emotional response that includes emotional states such as nervousness, worry, and uneasiness. By understanding the effects of human-computer interaction systems on users’ psychological anxiety, designers can take appropriate measures to reduce users’ psychological anxiety and improve their satisfaction and efficiency.

Seventy-two participants were selected for this study and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 36 participants in each group. The experimental group was exposed to HCI systems that used specific interface designs, and the control group was exposed to traditional HCI systems. The experimental data were collected by recording the psychological responses and behavioral performance of the participants such as psychological anxiety level and task completion time when using the interface. The data analysis software used was SAS.

The average psychological anxiety level scores of the experimental group and the control group were 3.5 and 4.2; and the average interface task completion time of the experimental group was 9.3±1.2 minutes, while the average time of the control group was 12.2±1.5 minutes. Through comparative analysis, there is a difference between the experimental group and the control group with P<0.05.

By studying the effect of HCI on users’ psychological anxiety, can help designers improve the design and function of HCI systems, reduce users’ psychological anxiety, and improve users’ satisfaction and efficiency.

Mindfulness training helps employees better cope with work and life stress by enhancing individual attention and self-awareness. At the same time, mindfulness training can help employees accept and tolerate their emotions and experiences, improve their self-efficacy and self-acceptance ability, and thus reduce anxiety.

A survey was conducted on 20 employees of a listed company in a specific city, and 20 questionnaires were collected, including 13 males and seven females. There were 6 cases with obvious anxiety symptoms, ten subjects with mild anxiety, and four without anxiety symptoms. Sixteen employees with anxiety symptoms were selected as the experimental group and received psychological intervention treatment using mindfulness training. Three months later, they were re-evaluated using the Anxiety Self Rating Scale. The effectiveness of the intervention treatment was statistically analyzed using SPSS23.0 software.

After treatment, the experimental group of employees showed significant improvement in anxiety levels, with six recovered, eight significantly improved, and two not recovered. There was a statistically significant difference between the control and patient groups, with P values less than 0.05.

The overall education level of the company’s employees is relatively high, accompanied by work pressure, interpersonal relationships, and family relationships, leading to anxiety symptoms among employees. Mindfulness training can improve employees’ emotional regulation and coping abilities and promote positive emotions and psychological states.
