Abstract

The mechanism of colour reactions of clay minerals with amines, diphenylpicrylhydrazyl, tetracyanoethylene, and leuco bases are elucidated, and the results used as a guide to the reaction mechanism of polymerization reactions catalysed by clay surfaces.
