1 We can scarcely avoid the conviction that δυσχɛρωμα (1. 126) was coined to acho στɛφνωμα (1. 122); through the din raised by the fightrs on the towers the στɛφνωμα became the eagle's δυσχɛρωμα (στɛφανω: χɛιρω), instead of its easy prey.
