Special issue call for papers

Theme: Poverty and Child Abuse and Neglect

Children Australia is calling for research, policy, practice interventions and legal papers that address the issue of Poverty and Child Abuse and Neglect. There is mounting international evidence that economic poverty and the resultant social disadvantage is a major factor influencing the incidence of abuse and neglect.

This issue will draw on national and international evidence to explore our understanding of the relationship between poverty and abuse and neglect. How should this relationship be addressed in casework practice and legal cases when child protection authorities institute care proceedings against parents who are living in poverty?

Deadline for manuscripts – 1 December 2019.

The Special edition expected publication date is June 2020.

Preferred manuscript length – 7000-8000 words. Author guidelines can be found here.
