Let $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ be large subsets of $\{1,\,.\,.\,.\,,\,N\}$. We study the number of pairs $\left( a,b \right)\,\in \,\mathcal{A}\,\times \,\mathcal{B}$ such that the sum of binary digits of $a\,+\,b$ is fixed.
