Pinus pumila Regel growing at Takanegahara Plateau of Mt. Taisetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, were damaged by larvae of Cephalcia variegata Takeuchi and Gilpinia daisetusana Takeuchi. The feeding behavior and life history of C. variegata are reported.
