Extinction will document species extinction, diversity loss, population processes, mass extinction and human factors, including scientific and social dimensions, and existential risk to humanity. It will embrace both empirical and theoretical studies, linking patterns to mechanisms and using this knowledge to inform the protection of biodiversity.
