After having examined the literature on the subject, the Author explains his research study, according to which insulin treatment in pregnant rats, during the first months of pregnancy, has given rise to fetal alterations in the fourth ventricle and the spinal cord. Accordingly, it could be possible that fetal malformations in diabetic women are somehow related to irrational treatments of insulin.
