The majority of pharmaceutical dosage forms are marketed as tablets which are formulated to satisfy various basic requirements. The analysis of the resultant multicomponent pharmaceutical and product is usually a lengthy task.
This paper describes the complementary use of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRS) to characterize and quantify excipients in pharmaceutical tablets.
