Summary
This chapter aims to outline a model of how consultation-liaison teams can work as an effective service in primary care for complex patients with persistent physical symptoms. We will outline the patients who might be seen, the problems they may present with, the type of interventions that a primary care liaison team may provide and the type of staff mix you might need to provide those interventions. We will also look at how the team can influence healthcare across the primary care setting to improve outcomes both for patients and healthcare.
