Summary
This chapter analyzes several case studies, through the lenses of the model presented in Chapter 8: thinking the impossible (thinking paradox); intending the impossible (intending paradox); exceeding oneself (transgression paradox); possibilitivity (action paradox). The first example comes from Chile, where Verónica Abud Cabrera initiated the idea of public libraries located in shopping malls, and offering a variety of activities, attracting especially young people. The next example is Ani Choying Drolma, the singing nun in Nepal, who supported the life conditions and education of Buddhist nuns, through her own singing performance. Also discussed are three partners from the USA, Andrew Kassoy, Bart Houlahan, and Jay Coen Gilbert, who quit their well-paid jobs, sharing hope for a better way to do business, being better for workers, better for communities, and better for the planet. They launched the B Corp movement leading with an economic system that works for all people and the planet.
