Summary
A previously well 53-year-old male is in the recovery room after a laparotomy for large bowel obstruction. His BMI is 43. His oxygen saturation is 91% on room air and he is feeling drowsy. He has a thoracic epidural. Anaesthesia consisted of propofol and remifentanil TIVA with a single 40-mg dose of rocuronium at induction. Sugammadex was given at the end of the case.
