Summary

An anesthesia machine has numerous parts that allow for the safe delivery of anesthetic gasses. This chapter discusses the composition of an anesthesia machine and the many facets of its delivery system from the composition of a ventilator to the modes of gas delivery, and high yield equations regarding vapor output.
