This textbook series provides advanced introductions to the main areas of study in contemporary Applied Linguistics, with a focus on the theory and practice of language teaching and language learning as well as on processes, practices and problems of language in use more broadly. Research on practical applications of linguistics in social contexts and in instructional settings has proliferated in the past few decades. This series aims to build on established work, while reflecting and responding to these critical developments.
