In regards to the original publication of this article [Reference Casari, Pethö, Schürch, Maeder, Philippe, Michler, Zysset and Schwiedrzik1], the authors would like to correct the following:

  1. 1. In Figure 2(a), the displayed equation should be “y = 1.106x-0.0425”.

  2. 2. In Equation (11), the term “fspecimen” should be placed at the denominator, after 0.398.
