Attendees at the 112th APSA Annual Meeting enjoyed a wide variety of opportunities for recognition, networking, presenting, collaboration, and professional development. In addition to presenting and discussing papers, meeting attendees were able to choose from a packed schedule of plenary sessions, theme panels, receptions, and meetings that connected them with other colleagues in their subfields or networks. Here are a few glimpses of the many activities and events that filled the three meeting spaces in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Several attendees gather for a quick photo by the welcome sign near registration and the exhibit hall. It is always good to catch up at the Annual Meeting.

Three attendees walk to their next event. The Annual Meeting offers many events, meetings, and discussions—attendees have plenty of options to fill their calendars.

The APSA Lounge provided a comfortable space to learn more about the association or take a seat and network or hold an informal meeting (left and right). Steven Eson (center) from APSA Membership was available at the APSA desk throughout the meeting to answer member questions and greet attendees.

Exhibitors from JSTOR connect with an attendee. With nearly 80 exhibitors, the exhibit hall was filled to capacity with intriguing vendors and publishers.

Two attendees stop to chat in the exhibit hall, which was a focal point for not only catching up on recent research but also stopping to reconnect with other scholars.

Left: The opening reception was held on Thursday night in the Philadelphia Convention Center’s Grand Hall, an expansive, art deco hall that used to function as a train terminal. Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres while catching up.

Attendees connect at a reception for graduate students. Even after the panels and meetings of the day, Annual Meeting events during the evening allow attendees to make lasting connections.
