It is unfortunate that our article published in the Journal Epidemiology and Infection about initial high rate misdiagnosis of CCHF (Tasdelen Fisgin et al., Reference Tasdelen Fisgin, Doganci, Tanyel and Tulek2010) had several replicated sentences in the beginning of the Discussion section which reproduced text from our other publication about success with early ribavirin treatment in CCHF patients. This inclusion of a paragraph was not a deliberate action, and we apologize sincerely to the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases for this inadvertent infringement of copyright. It should be recognized that the aim, objective, results and conclusions of these two articles are entirely different and there was certainly no intention on our part to breach research and publication ethics.
