On behalf of JGL I would like to express my gratitude to the many scholars who have served as anonymous referees during my nine-year tenure as Editor and Chair of the Editorial Committee (JGL 27.1–35.4). My interaction with the referees was one of the most rewarding aspects of my experience as Editor. To write a referee’s report is a time-consuming endeavor which requires a high degree of skill, responsibility, and professionalism. I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of linguists who are willing to sacrifice their time by evaluating JGL submissions and writing reports.
I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to Ilana Mezhevich for her many years of service as JGL copyeditor. Ilana was copyeditor of JGL long before I became Editor in January 2015. She spent many hours diligently reading and commenting on all manuscripts in order to ensure that those papers meet the highest standards of scholarship. Ilana’s keen attention to detail has led to a significant improvement of the quality of all JGL articles.
Finally, I would like to thank the following five Indiana University graduate students who served as proofreaders for JGL during my term as Editor: Megan Barrett, David Bolter, Tyler Kniess, Erin Noelliste, and Elijah Peters.
