The 10th Symposium on Advanced Materials Science and Nano-technology (SCiMAN10) will be held December 7–9, 2015, in San Jose, Costa Rica. It provides the local and regional scientific and engineering community a place to share research results in the fields of materials science, engineering, and nanotechnology.

The symposium is organized by the University of Costa Rica Materials Science and Engineering Institutional Program, which comprises the Materials Science and Engineering Research Center, the Electrochemistry and Chemical Energy Center, and the Microscopic Structures Research Center. The symposium will consist of lectures and a poster session.

Four confirmed speakers are Bradley Fahlman of Central Michigan University, USA, in the field of inorganic chemistry; Carlos Untiedt of the University of Alicante, Spain, in condensed matter; Charles Hanna of Boise State University, USA, in condensed-matter theory; and Dieter Bimberg of the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, in applied solid-state physics.

Past symposia covered topics such as soft condensed matter, biomaterials, composites, nanostructured semiconductors, polymers, and graphene. More information can be accessed from the meeting website at www.cicima.ucr.ac.cr/simposios/23-sciman10.
