As usual, at the beginning of 2015 we publish the traditional editorial note which includes the latest information and news affecting the Journal. Neither the editorial team nor the editorial council have experienced changes and have operated in a stable environment. We would like to express our thanks, once more, to the members of the editorial council for their support and collaboration.
In June 2014 the Impact Factor index for the Revista de Historia Económica-Journal of Iberian and Latin American History according to the Thomson-Reuters Journal Citation Report 2013 was published. The Journal’s impact index (0.31) is lower than that of the previous year (0.54) but has not fallen below the 2011 figure (0.25). The RHE-JILAEH, however, maintains its place among the 20 highest ranking scientific journals in the ‘History of Social Sciences’ category measured by impact index. The editorial team is working hard to regain lost ground.
Google Scholar Metrics has also published its H Index of Spanish scientific journals for the period 2009-2013 based on the number of citations offered by Google Scholar. The Journal remains in first place in the History category and in second place in Economics according to the H Index. The same index puts the RHE-JILAEH among the top ten international scientific journals in the category ‘Top publications in History’.
The Journal continues to receive the FECYT’s Quality Seal and has been classified as EXCELLENT.
The number of original research papers submitted to the RHE-JILAEH in the period 2010-2014 has been 57, 44, 43, 54 and 66 respectively, with a significant increase in the last year. The following graph shows the situation since 2006.

The percentage corresponding to articles about Latin America’s history is close to 40% (below last year’s figure) while the figure for articles concerning aspects of the economic history of Spain and Portugal remains stable and represents one-third of papers received. In contrast with 2013, the percentage of articles covering aspects of global history is above 25%. This rise in interest in global aspects appears to have consolidated since 2012.

Although the rejection rate of articles considered not to be appropriate for the RHE-JILAEH remains high (slightly above 40%), this figure is significantly lower than in previous years. The profile of the Journal is well-established and researchers seem to comprehend more clearly what type of manuscript is most suitable for publication.
Evaluation and processing times for articles have remained at reasonable values and our objective is to continue in this line.
STATISTICS FOR EVALUATION PERIODS AND THE SITUATION OF ORIGINAL RESEARCH PAPERS DURING 2014
The quality of the articles published by the Journal would suffer without the valuable contribution made by our team of referees. Como es habitual, al comienzo del año 2015, publicamos la tradicional nota de los editores que presenta los datos y novedades más recientes de la evolución de la Revista. El equipo editorial ha funcionado de manera estable y con continuidad así como los miembros del Consejo Editorial a los que una vez más queremos agradecer su apoyo y colaboración en las tareas de la Revista.
En junio del año 2014 se publicó el Índice de Impacto de la Revista de Historia Económica-Journal of Iberian and Latin American History según el Journal Citation Report 2013 de Thomson-Reuters. La Revista alcanza un menor índice de impacto (0,31) que el año anterior (0,54) pero no ha caído por debajo del alcanzado en 2011 (0,25). La RHE-JILAEH continua sin embargo entre las 20 primeras revistas científicas de acuerdo con el índice de impacto en la categoría de ‘History of Social Sciences’. El equipo de editores está incrementando los esfuerzos para volver a elevar nuestro índice de impacto.
Se ha publicado también el Índice H de las revistas científicas españolas según Google Scholar Metrics para el periodo 2009-2013 a partir del recuento de citas que ofrece Google Scholar. La Revista continúa ocupando el primer lugar en la categoría de Historia y el segundo puesto en Economía de acuerdo con el citado índice H. En la categoría de revistas científicas internacionales ‘Top publications in History’ de acuerdo con el mismo índice H de Google Scholar, la RHE-JILAEH se sitúa entre las diez primeras publicaciones.
La Revista continúa disfrutando del Sello de Calidad de la FECYT que otorgó la calificación de EXCELENTE.
La recepción de originales de investigación recibidos por RHE-JILAEH ha sido de 57, 44, 43, 54 y 66 respectivamente entre los años 2010 y 2014 con una subida muy apreciable en el número de originales en el último año. El gráfico siguiente presenta la evolución desde el año 2006.

El porcentaje de artículos recibidos sobre temas de historia de América Latina se acerca al 40%, (un porcentaje menor que el año anterior) mientras que los artículos sobre temas de historia económica de España y Portugal presentan un porcentaje estable y suponen un tercio de los originales recibidos. En contraposición al año 2013, los artículos con temas de historia global superan el 25%. El repunte en temas de historia global parece que se consolida desde el año 2012.

Aunque la tasa de rechazo editorial de manuscritos no apropiados para la RHE-JILAEH se mantiene en valores elevados (ligeramente superior al 40%) el porcentaje es significativamente menor que en años anteriores. El perfil de la Revista se consolida en tanto que los investigadores parecen percibir de manera más clara el tipo de manuscritos más idóneos para los lectores a los que se dirige la RHE-JILAEH.
Los tiempos de evaluación y tramitación de artículos han permanecido en valores muy razonables e intentaremos que así siga.

Sin la valiosa contribución de los evaluadores de los manuscritos recibidos la calidad de los artículos publicados en la Revista se resentiría. La RHE-JILAEH es una publicación afortunada pues cada año podemos agradecer la colaboración de un numeroso grupo de evaluadores comprometidos y profesionales.
