This study addresses the portion of the tracks covering SMIS and RIS. The background is the Landsat image mosaic of Antarctica (Bindschadler and others, 2008). All the maps in this paper use a standard universal polar stereographic (UPS) projection with a metric-based Cartesian ‘easting/northing’ coordinate system.
