The fourteenth PhD’s in Logic International Conference (PhD’s in Logic 2023) was held in Granada, Spain, from October 4 -6, 2023, under the auspices of the Institute for Mathematics of the University of Granada and with the co-sponsorship of the Association for Symbolic Logic. Financial support was provided by the Institute for Mathematics of the University of Granada, the ACM Special Interest Group on Logic and Computation, and the MOSAIC project from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 101007627.
The Program Committee of PhD’s in Logic 2023 was composed of 21 established researchers in various areas of logic. The Organizing Committee consisted of P.A. García Sánchez from the University of Granada, D. Pinto Prieto from the University of Amsterdam, J.M. Santiago Suárez from the Université Paris Cité and Politecnico di Torino, J.S. Santiago Villanueva from the University of Granada and the University of Jaén, and M.C. Torres Pachón from the University of Barcelona.
A total of six invited lectures were delivered at the meeting:
M.J. Frapolli Sanz (University of Granada), Logic in Mathematics.
N. Gierasimczuk (Danish Technical University), Inductive Inference and Epistemic Modal Logic.
T. Ibarlucía (Université Paris Cité), An invitation to continuous logic.
J. López Abad (UNED), Fraïssé Banach spaces.
J. Murzi (University of Salzburg), The Liar’s Revenge.
A. Vidal (Artificial Intelligence Research Institute IIIA), Modal fuzzy logics: diverging paths.
In addition, a total of 15 contributed talks and 25 poster presentations (including posters about the contributed talks) were delivered at the meeting. PhD’s in Logic 2023 attracted 36 registered participants from 13 different countries.
There were also two community activities. One consisted of a discussion of open problems, where C. Lawrence (University of Groningen) presented the problem Boolean logic in a system of absolute value equations. The other was a community discussion about the interests of young researchers in logic.
