A themed Supplement on community MRSA, including veterinary aspects, is planned on this topical and increasingly important subject. We invite our readers to submit original, short or review papers on community MRSA.

Although papers on any aspect of the epidemiology of community MRSA are welcome, we are looking particularly for papers on clinical experience and burden in different countries, basic epidemiological studies on community MRSA, clinical and outbreak management of the infection, screening for community MRSA, and veterinary aspects of community MRSA.

The planned date for paper publication is January or February 2010, somewhat earlier for the electronic version. Papers should be submitted as soon as possible, and at the latest by 15 August 2009. Dr Tyrone Pitt is the overall Editor for this issue. Professor Katharina Stärk will process the veterinary papers. All papers submitted will be assessed initially by one of the two Editors and if suitable, by independent reviewers.

Papers should however be sent to the Editor-in-Chief in the usual way via http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/hyg. They should be clearly specified as being for the community MRSA issue. To save time, please ensure our house style, particularly for references, is followed.

Instructions for contributors can be accessed on http://journals.cambridge.org/hyg

We look forward to receiving papers on this important subject.
