1. In neighboring Turkmenistan women have been active as bakhshis for at least three decades; an entire CD—Turkmenistan: Chant des femmes bakhshi was issued in 1995 (Inedit W-260064). I am not aware of women learning the bakhshi repertoire in Iranian Khorasan prior to the Iranian Revolution of 1979.Google Scholar
