Zu Aristoteles' Physik hat Walter Burley drei Kommentare verfasst: eine umfangreiche, selbständige Quästionenreihe und zwei Texterklärungen ad modum commenti mit eingestreuten Quästionen. Der erste Literalkommentar entstand vor 1316, der zweite in zwei Schüben 1324–27 (zu den Büchern 1–6) und 1334–37 (zu den Büchern 7 und 8). Die Quästionenreihe stammt nach der hier vorgeschlagenen Datierung aus der Zeit vor Abfassung des ersten Literalkommentars.

Das Verzeichnis der “tituli” ist in anderer Tinte geschrieben und gegenüber dem Text der Quästionen fehlerhaft, so dass es als nachträgliche Hinzufügung von zweifelhafter Authentizität gelten muss. Es ist bereits zweimal publiziert worden. Die Transkription von
Wood, R. (“Walter Burley's ‘Physics’ Commentaries,” 312–17) ist gegenüber derjenigen von S. Harrison Thomson korrekter, enthält aber doch auch ein paar Fehler. Zu korrigieren sind (abgesehen von einigen Indikativ-Formen, die Wood stillschweigend in den Konjunktiv gesetzt hat) die folgenden Stellen: 313, no. 25: lies “casus” statt “causa”; 314, no. 54: ergänze “ad quern est motus'; 316, no. 80: lies “Quis motus cui motui est contrarius” statt “Quis motus <sit> cui motus est contrarius”; no. 98: lies “quo” statt “quod”; 317, no. 101: lies “quod omne, quod movetur, movetur ab alio, <sit bona>“ statt “quod omne quod movetur ab alio <movetur>….” Cf.
