Photoelectron Emission from Interstellar Grains∗

Photoelectric emission from interstellar dust grains due to ultraviolet starlight is reinvestigated. Ejection of photoelectrons can make a substantial contribution to the heating of standard interstellar clouds. Both positive and negative grain charges are shown to be possible.
